I don’t know much about these day 2 picks so I won’t judge until I see them play but it seems we just missed on some more desirable players, which why I’m not a fan of trading back.
We drafted a 6’3” 195lb cornerback who has 4.3 speed. And I don’t know what the fuck RAS is all about but he’s the 4th highest rated of all corners rated… ever.

It was a good day, Chris.

The only hesitation I had with porter is he's new to cb. Still developing. But the freakish athlete is there.

Possibly because he’s only been a corner for like a week and a half

Look, I’m not hating on any of these dudes but it seems like there was a better version of a position we ended up drafting that went right in front of us at least twice. As a rule I’d just rather have the better player than a bunch of draft picks. That’s all I’m saying.

Missing on one (Higgins) led to trading down and missing on others? Perhaps. Though, not only did Carroll coach the OT/OG conversion Mia picked with our 2nd trade down, but we landed Porter and Grant, two pre-draft prospects spoken about here for us, where Porter was targeted and Grant fell into our laps. Bech also went where expected (end of 2nd) with other WR on the Board (6 taken in the 3rd). He certainly was on our radar presumably after Higgins. Caleb has traits that exceed his tape. We clearly targeted him too (projected 5th-6th taken with a comp 4th after an early run on OL pushed him up).

I had him in lil Al so your concerns mean nothing to me, sir. Future Hall of Famer. Book it.

Mike Haynes and Patrick Lester? WTF was that?

Looking at position runs, here’s what Zeirline, The Huddle Report & Arif predicted at OT, OG and WR compared to what happened and where Bech, Rodger and Grant fit into the runs:

1st Round: OT 5
  • Zeirline: 4
  • THR: 4
  • Arif: 4
2nd Round: OT 5 (10)
  • Zeirline: 1 (5)
  • THR: 2 (6)
  • Arif: 3 (7)
3rd Round: OT 2 (12) — Grant OT10
  • Zeirline: 4 (9) — Grant OT9
  • THR: 3 (9) — Grant OT7
  • Arif: 6 (13) — Grant OT10
1st Round: OG 3
  • Zeirline: 2
  • THR: 2
  • Arif: 1
2nd Round: OG 3 (6)
  • Zeirline: 1 (3)
  • THR: 2 (4)
  • Arif: 3 (4)
3rd Round: OG 3 (9) — Rogers OG8
  • Zeirline: 3 (6) — Rogers OG13
  • THR: 4 (8) — Rogers OL30 (OL17)
  • Arif: 1 (5) — Rogers OL26 (OL18)
1st Round: WR 4
  • Zeirline: 5
  • THR: 3
  • Arif: 5
2nd Round: WR 4 (8) — Bech WR8
  • Zeirline: 3 (8) — Bech WR6
  • THR: 5 (8) — Bech WR8
  • Arif: 4 (9) — Bech WR7
3rd Round: WR 6 (14)
  • Zeirline: 6 (14)
  • THR: 4 (12)
  • Arif: 5 (14)
Conclusions:
  1. Spyguy let Grant fall into his lap
  2. Rogers was a targeted reach
  3. Bech was targeted value

Really love the direction we took. Stacked picks, double dipped at OL, took a really solid WR prospect, and a CB with some elite traits.

Rogers is kind of similar to Glaze to me from last year, he’s a bit of a reach but I get it. Grant had a lot of pub as being one of the better LT prospects so I wonder if we start him at guard or just let him sit, bulk up, and be our LTOTF.
