First saw this lady at Merlefest in 2005. From Mississippi.

I read somewhere that this song was voted in the top 100 songs about the South, or some such.

Sympathy to Dolly for the loss of her husband
Y'all got this album? Seminal work with an all-star backing: Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, Krauss, Loveless etc

Not sure what has happened to this lady. No album for 10 years. Is she dead or trapped under heavy furniture? Please find out, because I miss her.

Bringing the good stuff down from Floyd, VA, Morgan Wade is on tour.
Oh yes, neck tramp stamps are right up @Chris_77 's street.

Swedish take on Americana. Siblings have that harmony thing going on.

Saw these at Merlefest. No guns or alcohol to keep the rednecks quiescent and the body count low

Jason Boland's new album is amazing.

@Chris_77, are you familiar with his work?

Morgan Wade last night in Kentish Town. Can't put it higher than OK.
1) Sound system was shite
2) Not a full band: just her and a couple of good ol' boys,
3) Vibe wasn't great: loads of disruptive drunks, some of whom were ejected. Must be millionaires to get trashed on London beer prices
4) Inter song banter fell as flat as day old pop.
5) Only played for 75 minutes

Still, she did sing this

Vaguely, possibly because you’ve mentioned him. In terms of contemporary artists I’m predominantly a fan of Whitey and Sturgill Simpson and then guys like Hank 3 and Bob Wayne. Although I’ve taken a liking to the Reeves Brothers. Outside of that it’s mostly old stuff. Listening to a lot of Billy Jo Shaver lately.

Recorded at the legendary Studio B, Nashville, TN.

Worth a tour if you're in the area. Stories of Elvis fishing the band out of the local bars and recording until early morning after he had been warming up by singing gospel for hours. Vocal stamina.
