Discuss all books here.

My box set of the Sunday Mickey Mouse comic strips just arrived.

Dune was a super cool book, the second one sucked though.
Phillip K Dick is the man overall.

Who’s your favorite “Thriller/Mystery” author?

@Darkenblot have you ever read pillars of the Earth? fantastic. Think you would like as there’s history through the eyes of architecture but it’s a fictional story.

All the Light We Cannot See- another fantastic book.

Anybody a big sci-fi/fantasy nerd on here? I could use something new but have no idea what's good in that genre these days.

I get big on authors and then get bored of them when they become to formulaic. Baldacchi is the latest that happened with. I also used to be really big on Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child books but felt like Pendergast jumped the shark for me and lost interest.

Also, since we’re talking about books, fuck you, George R.R. Martin.

New as in modern? Can't offer much. Still reading my Heinlein.

The genre has changed a lot, for what it's worth. Less science, more space cowboys.

I’ve read all of Balducci’s books so now new ones aren’t nearly as familiar/formulaic ( is that a word).

Yeah I get what you’re saying.

I have heard of the book but its presence has not graced my eyes.

Been out for awhile, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series was good. Wont watch the TV hack job.

John H Carroll has some fun fantasy novels. Kindle only though.

Michael Anderly has some fun mishmashed scifi/fantasy stories. Large series with several authors collaborating.

Another great book: Cryptonomicon
sort of historical fiction plus fiction, very interesting read
