Offensive Gameplan v. Minnesota?

What's our best bet?

The Viqueens are very tough to run on, especially up the middle.
This appears to negate our general M.O.

So do we keep slammin' away regardless (for 1.8 ypc), with the hope that our defense can keep us in the game and we can yuck our way to a 12-9 win?

Or is it possible that Kiffin will decide to spread the field some, go shotgun, and let Daunte sling it around the yard a bit?

I doubt we'll see shades of the '99 Rams today, but hey, if I looked up at the end of the day and saw that Z. Miller had 7 catches for 80 yds or something I might jizz myself.



Side note: Our defense still has NO fumble recoveries on the season. Almost unimaginable that a team can go 9 weeks and not collect a single fumble recovery. What's the problem here?


Side note II: Robert Gallery will have 2 penalties today.

Gotta keep pounding, if only to make the play action semi-believable.

But, yeah. If we ran the Texas Tech offense today, I wouldn't complain. Shame we don't have the right QB under center for it.
 
Maybe with Porter out and higgins in, Kiff will stretch the field. Other wise 3 and lechler or a 65yd fg from Jano.


Whatever happened to Miller and madsen?
 
We have to run the ball IMO. I'd rather not see the shotgun since our O-line is not good enough to hold blocks. Pound the ball keep and try to keep the game close. I have no confidence in the Raiders passing game at all. I'd rather see us running even against Minnesota's stout run defense. I'm not against play action but like Crow said we need to be more consistant with the run. I don't want to see any roll out passes play calling from Kiffen today. Also we have to keep the pressure off the line they just fuck up too much and put us in too many holes. The first and 20's or 3rd and 15's have to be stopped. Hopefully we get to see a little of Jamarcus today if the game becomes out of reach. As for defense hopefully we can score some defensive points, and not let the O-line of the Vikings open big holes for Chester Taylor. It's a weekly pipe dream with this defense, but that's what I'm hoping for this week.

Wow. I turned the channel for a second and our O is already off of the field. Great opening drive.
 
Even Lechler is coming up small today. This is going to be a blowout.
 
God damnit it. I am sick of this team. No wait, I hate this team.
