They used a 4th round pick on him. I thought for a 2nd this was going to be about that Walter Thomas.
Just for fun
The Walter Thomas Era Lasted 13 Days
What was your favorite thing about the Walter Thomas Era in New Orleans? There are so many memories, it's hard to focus on just one. In Walter Thomas' 13 days as a Saint, we laughed, we cried, we cringed at lame adapted Chuck Norris-isms. It was, truly, a rollercoaster of emotion, one that came to a halt Saturday as Thomas was allegedly sent home from the Saints' first rookie minicamp twelve minutes after it started.
I say allegedly because one person is refuting the news ... Walter Thomas. WWL in New Orleans is reporting that Thomas, who last officially weighed 370 lbs, could not make it through conditioning drills. A prominent member of the Saints' media, who posts on Saints Report, confirmed, saying Thomas, "didn't even make it through individual drills and had to be helped off the field . He was sent home and has been released by the Saints."
But members of the uber-fansite who have kept in contact with Thomas via his oft-analyzed MySpace page got in touch with the big man himself to confirm the rumors, and Thomas has assured them all that he'll be in camp in June.
Soo ... take everything for what it's worth. Assuming he was sent home: Most. Overrated. Undrafted. Free. Agent. Ever. (Is that too many words?). Assuming he wasn't sent home: please don't crush me, Walter, I'm just a lowly blogger.
UPDATE: The Saints' website, which is updated with the urgency of an hourly employee, has already removed Thomas from the roster. I guess that settles it.
