DiamondGirl went to the game on Saturday night when the Domers played Georgia Tech. I am curious what she has to say about this game. I thought ND looked sloppy all night. Their head coach, Charlie Weis, who never ever look at the bright side even in wins, was very blunt about how his team stunk out there. I agree. They should have blown Georgia Tech out. I was suprised to see how bad Brady Quinn looked out there. If that QB from Ga Tech had a clue, Notre Dame does not win that game.

Notre Dame better play better next week or else Penn St will have an easy time taking care of em. Penn St will probably beat them anyway.

I hope Notre Dame takes a huge hit in the rankings even though it will never happen since everyone loves Notre Dame which is why they are #2.

Another thing. Why was this game on ABC's Game of the Week? FSU/Miami was a better option than this borefest. I know Notre Dame brings people together, but this matchup was not worth Game of the Week IMO. It could be on in the afternoon.

I think they dropped to #4 in one poll and #5 in the other.

1. OSU
2. Texas
3. USC

Staurday's game between OSU and Texas ought to be interesting.

I wonder if the Bookie is making that game?

You guys want some college games? I'll put 'em in if you tell me who. Maybe I'll find a sight that will give me a clue on college games. I'm not that into them from an emotional standpoint. I look at players instead of teams or games. Kind of like watching the crops grow.

Notre Dame should be #6 at best not #4. A poster on another site that I post made a great point about if Notre Dame was a different name, that team would be #20 which I agree with him. They had a genrous ranking by the media by being ranked #2 because they are "Notre Dame". I just don't think they are that good. They were exposed for what they were by Ohio St and you will see it Saturday against Penn State.

I hope Texas finds a way to beat Ohio St. I hate the Buckeyes. I thank Vince Young and Jim Tressel last year for Texas coming through. Thank Tressel for trying to use two quarterbacks to win the Texas game last year at the Horseshoe. What was Tressel thinking? You never ever win games with two QBs at the same time. I thought Troy Smith was much deserving. Here's hoping Texas takes care of them. BTW, I think Buckeyes will lose at least three games this year.

Good college football games this weekend with Texas playing Ohio St, Penn St playing Notre Dame, Georgia playing South Carolina, Minnesota playing California (so it's not a big game, but it's a good matchup), and etc. Week 2 got some goodies unlike Week 1. It's a great diversion for fans who are anxiously waiting for the NFL season to start.

CB: I know you are a Cal fan. I am curious to see how Minnesota fares at Berkeley. It will be a tough matchup for the Gophers. I doubt California will play this bad against Minnesota.

Rupert: I have grown to love college football in recent years. It's fun once you get used to it.

Well, another reason Notre Dame was ranked so high was the Heisman hype for Brady Quinn. They've got to support the fact that they spent so many marketing dollars on him. I mean, seriously, the networks put in a lot of money flying him (or a film team) around for all the studio shots of him (and the other guys). Imagine if someone they hadn't gotten tape of was the front-runner? Horrors! So they manipulate the rankings until they can find out who the real front-runners are. It's a load of crap, and that's just one reason I don't enjoy college ball.

I think when you play for popular sports teams, you are always going to get overhyped. Notre Dame is a popular sports team so those guys are bigger than life.
