Ha, for the Patriots, a fallout is winning only one playoff game? In that case, I'd really love to see what a fallout means to the Raiders!

Who was it? One of the Rams receivers went on record saying that the SuperBowl they "lost" to New Englans was fixed. He said everyone on the field knew it. The one and only one that was mostly deserved was 2004. 2001 should have been the Raiders. 2003 should have been Indianapolis.
The league is soooo stupid fixing games. They tried desperately to get Indy in last year. If they wouldn't have screwed them in 2003, they wouldn't have had to try so hard last season.
This has nothing to do with bitterness or conspiracy theories. It has everything to do with watching the games and KNOWing the difference between a blown call and a purposeful non or bad call.
You're right, no-one can take the victories away. They're in the books. I bet there's some record of who won WWE/WW/WWF championships too, but what's the real purpose of that? A record of a fictional story line.

As long as Belichick and Brady are around, Patriots will always be the favorites as far as I am concerned. Every year, I pray that the Pats get eliminated. I will always have a special place in my heart for the Broncos for what they did last year.
you know i sick and tired of hearing the PATS first SB win was Fixed it might have been a bad call but the faiders still could have won that game the fact remains they didn't and plus they had to go into pittsburgh the very next week and play and they beat pitt then they had to take on the 14 point favorite Rams and they beat them too. the PATS still had to win 3 games 2 of them was clear Underdogs to win. so fiaders fans quit griping that you lost. you had your chance to win the SB agaisnt Tampa Bay we all know how they came out and faiders hasn't done anything since then.

They wouldn't have been in the Super Bowl if not for that terrible call.
I understand your point. NE still had to win the next games and the Super Bowl. But small thing are what change the face of sports. Who's to say they would have ever got on that run had it not been for the break they got against the Raiders that catapulted them into the next round of the playoffs?

Ummmmm, first off, stop with the faiders BS. Have a little respect, this board requires it.
Second, anyone who plays sports knows how despiriting it is when you're playing more than just your opponent. It takes a special kind of person to overcome that, and it's a tough task for a team to be filled with them. Then consider how difficult it is for a coach to counter that emotion in your team when what should have been the game clinching play was wrongfully taken away from you. People who play sports understand this and do NOT discount it.
Third, New England wouldn't have gone to the first two of their recent three Super Bowl trips without assistance from the refs along the way. Every objective analyst of the game knows it.
All that said, you have one point, a point that Pittsburgh proved last season, and that is that if you're just that much better than your opponent, you can nullify the refs. The refs did everything in their power to hand Indianapolis that playoff game last year, but a combination of Pittsburgh playing hard and Manning choking, as usual, prevented the fix from working. The difference is they were screwed early, and their fiery coach wasn't going to roll over, and their fiery players weren't going to take it. But again, objective analysts of the game saw what was going on.
So please New England fan, stop acting like it was won by the team on the field. If you're any kind of fan of the game, you know it wasn't. You know it was a fumble, and you know you should have gone home a loser. You know in 2003 there were numerous defensive holding and pass interference calls that were not made against your defense that would have sent your team home as losers again. Objective analysts of the game know it. You can live in denial if you like, but you're going to hear about it for years to come because it's the truth. There's no getting over being cheated.
Look at the different paths our two teams have taken since the fix. Our coach leaves for Tampa Bay and takes them to a Super Bowl victory against us, which sends us into a 3-year skid that we have yet to recover from (hopes are high for us getting out of the cellar this season, but we're not likely to be back in the playoffs). New England goes on to 4 straight winning seasons, 3 post-season appearances, and 2 more Super Bowl victories.
Today your team doesn't need a free pass. The league's assistance has worked it's magic. You've got an organization that has supreme confidence and no longer needs special assistance to have a great team. There's no taking away from the fact that they can do it on a level field today, but don't expect people who want a level playing field to stop reminding you about how you got there, and how their team got ploughed under in the process. Don't expect that pill to go down easy, and don't expect it to sit well in our stomachs.
I thought you said I could say what I want, that you were big enough to sit on the three rings and be happy. I guess it's truly not enough to just have them in the books. At least the WWE freely admits they script the outcome of thier matches. It's pure entertainment and those who watch treat it as such.
