Before taking the North Carolina job this week, sources said Butch Davis contacted the Cowboys because of a widespread assumption that Bill Parcells will not return next season. But Davis was told that Jeff Fisher was the No. 1 candidate to replace Parcells.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again...Bud Adams is an idiot if he gets rid of Fisher....Fisher is a great HC...he's just had a lot of problems to overcome in Tennessee with all those good players they had to cut due to the salary cap a couple of years ago...those weren't his fault.

Fisher is a top five HC in this league no doubt.

Tennessee has a young, inexperienced squad, and I don't blame their struggles on Fisher.

They should keep him.

Exactly....they had to replace a lot of good players a couple years back with rookies or less experienced players...and getting rid of McNair and Volek both this season was just ridiculous IMO...and then signing Kerry Collins....so I think Fisher is doing the best he can with what he has available to him.

So much for the Gruden rumors, eh?

Gruden's coming back to Oakland, didn't you guys know that? He's going to re-bench Jerry Porter
