Disappointment ... and dissolution?
The changes the Broncos made in the offseason paid off, and they fell two victories shy of its first Super Bowl title in seven years. "Obviously, there were some good things, good record, but we fell short of our goal," Denver coach Mike Shanahan said. However, changes are inevitable in the NFL, especially with the Broncos, who will have to make some significant moves to get under the salary cap by March 1. Longtime center Tom Nalen might be one of the cap casualties. "It was weird coming off the field (Jan. 22)," Nalen said. "It could have been my last game as a Bronco. I've never been a free agent before."
