Being a kid who grew up on mostly classic rock and who then first really got into music during those hair metal days, I initially resented the fuck out of grunge. It was like “Okay, I’m 21 years old and I want to listen to up tempo, usually misogynistic music.... and now all I get is this depressed bullshit? What the fuck?”

I came around though.

I can still tell you the last song that I really fucking loved before “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and grunge completely took over: “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” by the Spin Doctors. Then Nirvana hit and radio changed overnight.

I do think Mike Patton is the most underrated though. He’s got so much range he’s made a career out of voice acting on the side.

Mike Patton is probably the best vocalist in music.
 
HR from the Bad Brains may be the best frontman of all time. The whole package, especially the antics like backflips on stage. That dude had the energy of someone on coke, PCP, and crack.

I've tried to get into them a few different times. Just not my thing. I don't mind the artsy thing but I think it's the vocals that don't do it for me. My bro is a big Neurosis fan and they're similar bands to me except that Neurosis is probably on the darker/heavier side with more intense vocals.
 
I absolutely saw this joke in a meme beforehand, but I also absolutely pulled it off in real life a little while back:

GF: Honey, can you vacuum the rugs?
Me: Sure. Where’s tool?
GF: What?
Me: Tool. The vacuum.
GF: Why “Tool?”
Me: Because it fucking sucks too.

Tool have a few absolutely great songs and then quite a lot of meh. The last album was dogshit and it took them like 10 years...
