Movies Discussion

I have yet to hear or read a single negative word about this movie. The closest thing to criticism I've seen is...

I've seen it said that Sinners is a lot like From Dusk Till Dawn. Not necessarily a rip-off, but strikingly similar. If that's the case, and it's as well done as everyone says, I expect I'll be a big fan.

Oh. And I hear Josh Allen's pretty little wife has a bit of a mouth on her in this one. That piques the curiosity all by itself.
She most definitely does. Fits for the story, as damn near everyone does, but none of it seems out of place.

I can see how some people might compare it to Dusk Til Dawn, but it's a bit of a reach. Yes, both have vampires, but while DTD has them stumbled upon and use the people for food, Sinners has them being more like a cult.

Interesting. I read this a long time ago and just recently had it running through my mind as something that could be a good low budget film. Guess someone else though the same.

One of my favorite short stories from him. His short stories seem to make the better movies anyway. Wasn't that a Bachman book?

You are correct sir. He also did Thinner and The Running Man under that pseudonym.

Old movie but I think it confirms how fucked up I am.

S Craig Zahler is one of my faves.

Anyone watched Brawl in Cell Block 99? Or Bone Tomahawk? He is working on a couple other movies.

I've seen both and enjoyed them.

First one was fun. I doubt I'd see it in theaters, but could still be a fun watch.

I liked the characters in Thunderbolts more than the movie itself. Yelena, Alexei, and Walkers characters were great entertainment. Ghost was kinda pointless and while I get that the mental health stuff is integral to Sentry's character, it just felt preachy. Oh, and non Winter Soldier Bucky sucks. Lots to infer from the post credit scene though.

I saw it last night. Your comment captured my thoughts. It was enjoyable though but dragged on and felt over the top with the mental health angle.

Red Guardian was hilarious, though, and I liked Yelena.
