That Cutler bastard does put some impressive velocity on his throws. After laughing at his first couplea performances, I was pretty impressed with his abilities towards the end there.

I'm asking the question because some seem to think Russell wouldn't be a top prospect at his position in last seasons draft becasue he's "raw", inconsistent or not NFL ready... but was Cutler all those things? I was under the impression the guy didn't do dick on that lousey team he played for in college, but possessed the requisite cannon

If that's the case how would Cutler be a better prospect than Russ since Russ supoposedly has the best QBing arm on the planet?

Arm isnt close. Its Russell. A young Favre or Vick is the only comparison.

Strength of competition isnt close and college resume isnt close either...

Both have mobility, but Russell is taller and bigger.

Cutler probably is a bit smarter. and more of a leader, IMO.

Both are raw and the 'high ceiling' types, although Russell is 2+ years younger coming out of the NCAA...

Edit: Forgot about the release. Russell's is among the quickest I've seen. Marino-esque.

I like Russell and Cutler a ton, but IMO Russell is a step above.

My only criticism of Russell after watching his video footage is that he does have a tendency to stare down his primary receiver. Fortunately, he's got the gun to get away with it. I'm not sure Cutler can make those touch passes that JRuss can. That's what impresses me the most. Not the arm strength so much.
Besides, Cutler has that dumb ass expression on his face.

Cutler isn't in danger of going "Chalupa", either.

I still believe that Cutler was and is the best QB out of the three QBs last year and the two "top" QBs this year.

Sorry but Cutler isnt even close to the pros that Russell is. Russell has bigger bust potential but has a muuuuch higher ceiling as well.
