Alrighty well a couple wins has put some winds in the sails of the Raiders... at least on D. The seahags on the other side of the coin have lost a couple of winnable games and have some devastating injuries to thier Offense. That said they still are likely the "better" team playing at home on monday night with some desperation.

Raiders O vs Seahawks D

Randy Moss should have a field day against this secondary... Not a player in it has played well the last couple weeks and it hasnt had much help from the pass rush. The LBs are actually better at rushing the passer then the ends or tackles... But the ends are both high motor guys (Think Tyler Brayton with a few more moves) and thier DT rotation is OK... The strength of this D is a former weakness though and thats LB... Peterson is an animal and the biggest scare for me. Hill and Tatupu are good defenders Hill as a pass rusher and Tatupu as thier Kirk Morrison do all type. Their S situation has been bad all year as Hamlin has been beaten deep and Boulware was just benched for play. If Porter starts again and we have a healthy running game I think we can do some damage against this D... It overachieved last year and is showing that it is very soft this year. Get some double teams on Peterson and we should be able to achieve some good production this game.

Seahags O vs Raider D

If our team plays lights out against the pass again (which shouldnt be hard with Wallace at QB and the problems the OL has had as a unit) then we should win this game. Morris is a decent RB but hasnt been very effective this year do to line play. Thier WRs are dangerous but there isnt one "that guy" who can kill us... and even if they come up in multiple WR packages that plays more to our strengths then to our weaknesses. Burgess should have a field day even if Locklear is playing... If we can keep Branch and DJack contained and keep Wallace from making many plays with his feet then we pretty much eliminate thier entire O. But we do have to watch for Stevens who was thier best reciever last week and seems to be a fave target for Wallace.

Our STs has improved and I think Carr, Lechler, and Jano will be very vital to us winning again. I've got a little rose colored glasses on this week but to be honest I think we are actually favorites since they are missing 2 of thier 3 best O players.

Wallace is a lot better than I thought originally. He can scramble which creates probelms for a defense and he has a strong arm. The key would be to force him into inexperienced mistakes. That is where or pass rush comes into play. If we put the kind of pressure we put on big Ben then we might be in business. Seattle's WR's at ths pont is relly the strength of thier offense. The Hag OL has struggled all year even with the great Walter Jones at LT. How much did the loss of Steve Hutchinson mean to that offense? Apparently more than anybody thought poissibile.

In spite of Seattle's questionable defensive struggles, our offense has to show they can do something (anything) well on a consistent basis. This is just a wait and see propostion.

Well, no Alexander, no Hass, the only thing we need now is some bad chicken at the Seahawks Saturday buffet.

Don't you live up there, CB? How bout some special salmonella sandwiches delivered to the locker room?

The Raiders defence is well up to the task, but the offence is an abortion. Fortunately for them, the hags defence is not the Pittsburgh defence, so Walter may have some extra time to watch for receivers.

I don't know, but if the ofence doesn't get better we can't win games. Against Pittsburgh it was an extraordinary event, but it was an exception it won't repeat for a while.

I picked the Raiders to win this game.......so they damn well better go into Seattle and take care of business!!!

I'll set the over/under on the number of sacks Julian Peterson gets at 3....

He's just the kind of guy that's been giving us fits... Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they added some 34 looks specifically for this game...

I've got the over/under for false starts at 6 with Gallery the winner.

I will have the chance to see them alive at Seattle, We will be using Raider gear, maybe will pick up a fight or two... those seafags must be no challenge...:)

Wallace may be fleet of foot, but our defense is faster than I've ever seen it. I'm not overly concerned about the QB running because I think we can "take him out" if he starts pulling it down too much.

If we don't turn the ball over and get simply a mediocre game on offense (which would be GREAT, relatively speaking) we should win.

Funny, there is NO WAY that Seattle is taking the Raiders lightly. No way.

My single biggest concern is crowd noise, which will lead to false starts, which will lead to long down & distance, which will (or could) lead to turnovers by Walter.

Agreed, that is going to be our biggest problem, that place is LOUDER than any we have been in and we saw what happened in Denver and Baltimore with noise and mental lapses, our line better be mentally in check or the false starts will be killing us.

I'm sitting in the front row at this one, that is a lot of noise coming down from up above.

You should try and hook up with Phil, errr....Crossbones. He's going to the game as well.

(post whoring at it's worst alert)

Anyone else notice that Aaron Brooks seems to be in no hurry to get back on the field? Seems that way to me anyway. He's practically a forgotten man in Oakland and part of the reason is his apparant lack of "fire" to get back on the field.

Something stinks here IMO.

Either he's:

a.) Truly in no hurry to play. Is looking to go elsewhere next year and that's that.

b.) The Raiders have told him that his injury is more severe than first thought and that he should take a long rehab and oh, by the way, Andrew Walter will play until you're 1,000,000% healed. (wink, wink).

I think its option b, R4life.

The staff is probably telling Brooks that they want to audition Walter for a while, and that this will help him keep his value, and save face, so to speak. Not piss Brooks off, considering he is a 'star and a veteran'. Its better than being flat out released from his prospective...

In all actuality he hasnt been 'demoted' Walter has only been an injury replacement, right?

They'll let Walter have some more weeks, and then give Brooks another crack at the offense at the end, unless Walter keeps winning, IMO.

RF007 - I think that is probably the case, but the scary part, and we are close to that point IMO, is that if the Raider offense continues to look like dog shit while Walter continues to throw INT's (or fumble), then we might be forced to go with Brooks and that in the end will only hamper Walter's growth IMO.

He and the offense need to show something, anything, starting this Monday Night in Seattle......I'd take 17 points and a few other drives that kill the clock. Talk about low expectations, eh?

Yep, I'm totally with 007 on this one. It's extended rehabilitation. If Brooks had been lights out and the team was barely losing because of Walter, Brooks would be back and getting shots every week. Since it looks more like six in one hand a half dozen in the other, Brooks gets to return to high school healthy first.

LOL! Nice reference.

Doesn't sound like Gonzo is leaving KC any time soon so we can cross him off our wish list.
