As long as Sapp can get pressure like he did last year, My only request is just some push from kelly, sands, and moore. we have two sack specialists on each end. we just need run defense support. Thats Moore's specialty before he got injured. We'll have to wait and see. But I do think that he can be a damn good run stopper if he's 100 percent healthy with no lingering effect from his injury.CrossBones said:I'm nervous abotu the DT postion too. I still not sure what the roataion will be and whether these guys can help get ot the QB more consistently.
Sacks arent even a worry with our D-line IMO. We upgraded our ability to rush the QB at every position outside of DT. Huff, Bing, and Howard all solid blitzers(howard and Huff especially. Routt showed flashes of solid blitzing skills(we'll see if it was a fluke or not this year). And on 3rd down we have two guys who can flat out get to the qb on each end along with Sapp bring pressure up the middle.
Its the run defense i'm worried about. Hawthorne and Quarshie havent proven to be run stoppers yet. We just dont know anything about whether got the run stopping Rashard Moore of 2 years ago, or a gimp. Terdell sands Needs more consistency(i wont count him out because of his height, but he has to get a bigger push on the line of scrimmage this year). And Tommy kelly is a better fight in Sapps DT position during rotations and at DE, but not a run stopper in the middle..
This year has more question marks at the DT position that i've ever seen from us. But the bright side is that we find out what are youth is worth much faster than any other year. Another unfortunate bright side is atleast its not as thin as our RB core depth.
