Mayock breaking down tape: Russell vs. Quinn

Damn you Turo.

Man Russell looks like he's gonna be the truth. And we're (Al) gonna draft Calvin Johnson. You just know that is what's gonna happen. And BTW, Andrew, you're no JaMarcus Russell -- get that straight.

Over and out. :o

I hope CJ winds up going to strip club with a large entourage before draft day. :D If it makes you feel any better Bones, Chris Landry feels that JRuss has bust written all over him.

Wussing out

What a tough call this is.....

My secret hope....
The Glaziers, again, pony up the house to the Raiders (Gruden Revisited) to move up to #1. We get whoever is available from:
Johnson
Quinn
Russell
Thomas
Makes the agony easier... and we get to fill needs across the board with the extra picks.

R4Life - Hhmm. Interesting. Could also be the reason that all these CJ rumors are floating around. If Al can convince the Tampa that he is going to select CJ, they could be forced to trade up to #1. However, if we flop with Tampa, and we truly covet Russell, the Lions (or anyone else trading with the Lions) could steal him......

Agreed.

My number one scenario is to trade down to 3-4 and still get Russell or Quinn, while picking up a second and fourth rounder, etc.

I don't buy the crap that Quinn will 'plummet' on draft day. He's going in the top five, IMO.

I could handle Quinn, AP, Russell or CJ in this draft, although everyone knows my preference.

I can gaurantee this:

On paper, we will be a better team on April 30th... ;)

quinn looks like walter on some plays(dont bash me for saying that, jmho).

I'd put an asterisk on the drop steps and throwing comparison. thats coachable, in fact its why quinn looked better at it. his coach coached tommy b...I've read that they've improved russell's drop and throw since.

If we draft JR we might be watching the 2nd and 3rd round guys getting all the time on the field eary in the season. Im obviously excited about the #1, but i am also really interested to see where pick #33 goes. WR, OL, TE, DE, DT???

Better be a lot of etc. going on there.

The Chargers paid a ransom to move up from 3 to 2 to take Leaf.

The Giants paid even more to move up from 4 to 1, essentially, for Manning.

If all we got was a second and a fourth rounder to move down from 1 to 4, we'll have been bent over.

Better be a lot of etc. going on there.

That's kinda why its put in there...

Did you wan't me to get into full detail on a fake mock draft 'dream scenario' anyways?

Give your head a shake.

I was trying to show that the most we would get this year is a couple picks, with the swap of firsts, but they always add the future first and third rounders, etc.

If all we got was a second and a fourth rounder to move down from 1 to 4, we'll have been bent over.

Again, that's what the etc. was there for.

etc., to me, implies "more of the same"

A future first-rounder is a lot more valuable than a current fourth-rounder.

Whatever Jack.

It was a 'dream scenario' that I didnt take too seriously. (Apparently you did though)

If you wanted me to get in depth on which draft picks, what players, salary implications and what not, all you had to do was ask.

I'll know better next time I post a not so serious reply...

It was a 'dream scenario'

Right ... and to me, that would be a nightmare, which is why I said anything.

Rather than getting all angry about it, though, you could have just replied to my post by saying "Yeah, etc. did mean a lot more. Sorry for the confusion."

I'd have to say that at a minimum we'd need to get another first -- like next year. Isn't that what the Giants did? And Arizona too with the Leaf deal? Doesn't matter what the "chart" says. You want CJ or not Tampa?

I think Detroit is a wild card here. No telling what Millen might do. Maybe for the third or fourth year in a row he'd take another WR? He seems invincible in his position in Detroit so I don't' think anything he does could get him canned. :p

What I'm saying is that the teams involved have to worry about what Detroit might do. They don't want to get Orlando Paced 'ya know.

I really doubt a trade down is an option. Only because the Raiders can't even project the #2 pick.

If they move down to #4, they have no idea who is gonna go 2-3. Well, maybe they do, but I think there's enough uncertainty that there's no guarantee the guy they'd want is there.

Right ... and to me, that would be a nightmare, which is why I said anything.

So trading down and STILL getting the top QB is a nightmare?

Wow.

To me...Staying at the 1 spot and picking a WR is a nightmare. In a trade down? Sure, but not for the huge dough he'll get at the one spot.

I guess that's why we all get opinions though.

Rather than getting all angry about it, though, you could have just replied to my post by saying "Yeah, etc. did mean a lot more. Sorry for the confusion."

Rather than being a douche and commenting on a guys half assed dream scenario, you could have just relaxed.

That's not your style though.

No. Trading down and only getting a second-rounder, a fourth-rounder and "etc" is a nightmare.

Since "etc" was meant to imply a future first-rounder, it's not a nightmare. But that wasn't clear at first read.

Silly me. I thought this was a message board.

Next time I'll know that your posts are not intended to be replied to.

And I've been plenty relaxed this whole time.

Glad we're clear on that.

Sorry I didnt detail my trade down plan in full.

I misinterpreted your tone...I thought you were commenting on how horrible my trade down was, when it was never reall seriously planned out and detail was never really put into it. That was my bad.

And you can reply to my posts all you want, but you better be nice about it. ;)
