Maxx crosby

Does that not leave room for 2028 to say “I have no money GTD” or did I read that wrong
He could, but unless a deal is fully guaranteed, there will always be a point where a player can say that. That's functionally 4 seasons from now (25, 26, 27), and he'll be 31. Worry about that then.

Seems like after next year we could trade him without any cap ramifications as well. Not saying we will or should but the options are open and it doesn’t hurt. I assume that’s the benefit of no bonus money as well as allowing for lots of flexibility moving forward if needed.

No new ramifications, yep. This was designed very much as we like you and want to reward you and keep you, but protecting our asses in case you want to leave.

How is that $91M guaranteed?

On March 5, 2025, the Raiders and Crosby agreed to a three year, $106.5 million extension. According to ProFootballTalk, his 2025 and 2026 base salaries were increased to $32.5 million and $30 million, and were made fully guaranteed. His 2027 salary of $29 million is guaranteed for injury only, and will vest to full if he is on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2026 league year.

Sounds like a two year deal to me. Maxx, if healthy and playing well, will be cheap, why would we want to trade him? Holdout or trade demand after 2 years? Guess we can always convert salary to bonus money to lower the cap hit next year.

Another nice bonus is that unless there is something in his contract that states otherwise, we could still ask him to do a restructure this year by converting base to a bonus, if it's needed for another player.

Guy forced us to hire a coach last year or he was requesting a trade, and then again said he will request a trade if we didn't up his money.
