F’en aye. Vinny’s again throwing out M. Williams, ‘27 1st and ‘28 2nd from ‘9ers for Maxx. ‘9ers beat reporter is saying it’s a ‘27 1st and M. Williams or a ‘28 2nd. I repeat F’ off. Call me back after W4.

I kind of suspect that the Raiders defense will use a lot of bear fronts with the outside guys standing up, dropping or rushing to try and keep the offense guessing.

I don't think that is the best way to use of Max.

Well, I’m not sure M. Williams has a best way to be used. He excels at nothing. And now is recovering from an ACL. Not a fan.

He's stout against the run but his pass rush is a work in progress plus coming off an acl injury. Should fit in nicely here lol
Didn't we just sign Kwitty Paye for that?

Why would it be much different than last year? We promoted the DL coach to DC.

Hopefully two reasons: (1) Pete’s gone and (2) Leonard is more interested in 3-4 looks and a better DC in the back 7 than Graham (likely a wet dream but one can hope).

Mykel Williams is supposed to be a deal sweetener?

Dude makes Clelin Ferrell look like a young Reggie White when you compare their rookie years.

On a guaranteed rookie contract? And injured? That’s a liability not an asset.

Maxx Crosby on Brock Purdy:

“Anybody that gets in that Niners system, people find a way to discredit them just because of how good Kyle Shanahan is and they’ve always had a lot of talent around him, but you’ve seen Brock in his own right make some plays and do certain things that are not just system-quarterback type plays. He’s one of the better young quarterbacks in the league, man. He’s talented and you see that with how great that offense is able to operate.”

That oughta help push the trade speculation.

He was just a position coach it wasn't his defense and I'm looking at guys like Crawford that didn't put his hand in the dirt.
Rush LB'er that can also drop into coverage.

They didn't use a traditional Pete Carroll front either though. Maxx stood up and moved along the DL quite a bit and had a great season doing so. If Robbie can't make it work with one of the best DEs in the league then he's not the guy.

Makes a guy wonder.

I think for whatever it's worth was that the DL play was Leonard and probably more similar than not to what we'll see this year. Honestly nothing about last season was traditional Pete Carroll, which was part of the problem IMO. Seems like the organization was divided from the very beginning to include control over hiring decisions. I kinda suspect him being so insistent on his sons was to ensure he had his own loyal guys on a staff that wasn't entirely his.
