Maxx Crosby - HE’S BAAACK.

#Raiders GM John Spytek took the high road in his first public comments on the Maxx Crosby situation:

“Things have a way of working out the way they’re supposed to. We welcome him like he never left — because he really never did.”

Maybe he ends up sucking but Spy at least seems to know what he’s doing.

So I’m hanging out at a restaurant where they’re broadcasting the Baltimore sports talk radio morning show. I just talked to one of the hosts about the Crosby deal. He told me that he talked to DeCosta about it. He said they had asked the Raiders for the medical and they were stalling and not being forthcoming. When they saw the knee they said it was “toast”. He probably has one year left in him.

One of two polars. This is self-serving spin of a known injury when the opportunity to sign Hendrickson and keep the picks arose. Or, the Raiders knew Balt was going to back out and planned accordingly. Perhaps somewhere in the middle.

Either way, Balt did Maxx dirty. Are you saying Maxx and his agent can’t release their own records under HIPPA? That other teams were bidding blind too? Hmmm.

Regardless, don’t you meet Maxx at the airport and treat him like a welcomed guest you invited, rather than shun him because of his injury? It’s Maxx’s knee. He knows the truth. If it’s truly F’d, why the cold shoulder when he’s in your house? Be upfront about it. It makes little sense, other than Balt was in the middle of stabbing Maxx in the back.

But probably 100% correct.

We’ll see if Crosby blows out that knee this year. I think it would be a good bet.
The idea that Maxx’s knee is worse than as advertised is 100% crap. The fact that nobody knows how the knee will hold up is apparently true. But it’s stupid to think Balt did not know that going into the deal. Raiders had no ability or motive to try to sneak one by the Ravens. SpyGuy has refuted any such BS narrative.

As far as the airport thing goes, there was no direct flight from gas to Baltimore. . Minter and DeCosta met him, just not at the airport.

The odd treatment of Maxx was not limited to the airport. Sounds like that was the least of it.

After signing Paye, resigning Koonce and Snowden, having Wilson on the roster and getting Maxx back, SpyGuy’s not drafting an edge on Day 2.
Having Wilson on the roster?

That's like having me on the roster.

I think I have less stiff hips.

Still $8M in cap space who’s going to get reps b/c DL rotate. While not good at football, he’s not bad either. He’s a JAG per PFF (57.6) who had his most productive year (5.5% SIS—4 sacks, 26 pressures in 287 passing snaps; 8 TFL, 24 solos in 152 running snaps).

Drafting pass rushers and offensive lineman early and often is just a sound strategy every year.

Maxx knee issue or not.
