Other than selling the team that is exactly what we wanted to happen.
We will see if he can make one good decision in 11 years.

Is this real? Sounds fascinating.Mark fires long time accountants because they told him he didn't have enough money to buy a WNBA franchise
But he's clearly going about it in the wrong way IMO. Selling portions of the team and bringing in guys like Brady and Seymore with undefined roles. What is needed is a clear leader in charge with the support infrastructure to be successful. I don't see any indication that is happening... hope I'm wrong.Very well said. Our best bet is if Mark just gets away from the football side and let people who, hopefully, know what they're doing take care of that. Mark isn't selling the team and that's the best we can hope for.
Some people just don't see disfunction when it's staring them in the face.Is this real? Sounds fascinating.
Not even Caitlen Clark can save that welfare league, I think they lost an estimated 50mil last season. He fired the accountants because they told him buying the Aces was a bad investment. He's making money hand over first now. They were wrong.
Women’s basketball has zero appeal. I wouldn’t watch if they threw in Sunday Ticket. Not even Caitlen Clark can save that welfare league, I think they lost an estimated 50mil last season.
He isn't making a dime from the Aces and he even built them a training facility the first of its kind in the WNBA.
Mark's a fucking idiot that inherited an NFL franchise.

When they put the WNBA players on chartered flights it insured, they broke all records for losing money. So the Pawn Stars guys in the strip will give him $5 for it.
Big deal.

Wait. I thought we were talking about Mark Davis. It looks like you're talking about the whole league. And it keeps getting better for a league that has never turned a profit, ever.
They are looking for more money and a potential strike.

Seems like a clickbait-ey title but whatever lol
It's possible that he's phasing himself out as the true owner, but will keep him in the "face" role for the franchise. He doesn't have any heirs that aren't part of a nature reserve, so he can't pass the legacy on to his family like Al did. As you stated, the Raiders are life for Mark, so if he can find a way to have his cake and eat it too, by making the Raiders successful and he is still "The Boss", then he can basically give Al the finger and say "Told you I could do it."Probably unlikely.... It's easier to get out when you have a larger ownership share that brings a lot more qualified and serious buyers to the table.
What's interesting is Davis is diluting his influence in a manner that seems like he's getting coached by somebody who really knows what they are doing.... I'm kind of thinking another owner is coaching him (maybe Jerry Jones who promised Al he'd help Mark whenever he could).
- Sell a stake to guys like Brady and Seymour to run the football side (and build a culture) as Davis has no clue and isn't exactly learning or getting better. It remains to be seen if Brady (offense) and Seymour (defense) really know what they are doing.
- Sell a slightly bigger stake to deep pocket guys who can give the Raiders more liquidity in FA and more flexibility in resigning our own FAs. Those guys can give the cash infusion that Davis may not necessarily have (losing Jacobs with so much cap room was a head scratcher.... but suddenly makes sense if the cash wasn't there).
*** This really looks more like Davis digging in his heels more than him looking for an exit. Realistically, the Raiders are Davis' life. He has nowhere else to go, and he has absolutely no qualifications to do anything anyways. In a way this is the most realistic comprise. Reduce his influence on the football side.... and bring in guys with more money where we can be more competitive with signing bonuses and guaranteed money. ***
Somebody's coaching Davis. He's not smart enough to come up with this on his own.... Who's coaching him and what exactly their motivation might be is the real story behind the story so to speak.

AL’s ego wouldn’t let anyone have power or say while he was alive. We’ve been paying the price for 2 decadesAl passed it on because he didn’t give a fuck. If he would have had a real succession plan his kid would be cleaning shrimp right now at PF Changs.
Al thought he was going to live forever.
