Thats pretty damn slick.

Just think what an owner/coach tandem the Al and the Rat could have made if things had worked out differently.
 
He has a good eye for talent and did some good things for us. I hope he finishes his career in Denver much like he ended his career here.

Lombardi with Broncos

Mike Lombardi, the Raiders’ top personnel executive for many years who was fired and seemingly blamed for everything that went wrong in Oakland the last couple of seasons even if it wasn’t all his fault, is now working for the Denver Broncos and Coach Mike Shanahan. It is a good move for both men. Lombardi knows everything about Oakland’s personnel — and we all know how much Shanahan detests Al Davis — and it’s a good move for Lombardi, who now resides in the same AFC West division and can further prove to Davis that he’s a solid personnel man.

The move had been rumored for months, but Lombardi just started work on Friday.

lol.. what exactly does Lombardi "know" that he would pass to shannarat?? Not a fuckin thing that would do denver any good.....Lombardi was kept out of the loop for months. The only thing would be some personel records and if thats the case, I highly doubt the raiders when hiring him didn't make him sign a nondisclosure agreement. So go ahead and let Lombardi tell them something that is covered in a nondisclosure.. I can't wait to see a legal battle between Oakland and Denver... it would be a no brainer win for Davis and the Rat would go down!
 
Lombardi was such a talent scout that we ended up with the worst record in football over the past for years. Now he can go do that for _enver.

I don't buy that for a minute. We all know that Al marches to the beat of his own drummer, but he does listen to imput from the Ron Wolfes, bruce Allens and (unfortunately)the Mike Lombardis of the world.
 
Setting aside my card carrying hatred for the Broncos, I'm not sure I understand the "trader" stuff?

What's this guy supposed to do when he's out of work? Besides, he got dumped uncerimoniously by the Raiders. I seriously doubt he's feleing too many "warm & fuzzies" about us.

We'd all do the same thing in our own job situations BTW.

Not last year imo. art had a big influence and alot of the moves we made were not of lombardi's choice. i'm not speaking for his whole career, but last year he didnt get his way in alot of matters imo.

He has a good eye when it came to players that were off the radar type. When it comes to the draft, Al does listen the scouts, Lombardi, the head coach and others but he usually goes with who he wants...at least for the first round.

I like what Lombardi did here especially in filling in for Bruce Allen when it seemed that Allen's leaving was the end all.

What I didn't like was the talking behind backs type of stuff...if it is true.
