Wow. Millen is still a Raider at heart, helping out Darth raider all the way from Detroit.

All things considered, today wasnt all that bad.

1st pick and the Raiders now control their own destiny for the next ten years.

Scary thought.

Wonder what's going through Brady Quinn's mind right about now?

'What a fuckin shitty day this is'

-About what I figure he's thinking.

Whats going through Moss and Porter's mind right now. Or A.Walter's head. I think we will trade down and pick up a ton of picks.

Have we ever done this before?

We havent drafted a lot of QB's first overall either though...

My head tells me AP will just go first overall, but my heart wants to take a chance on the franchise QB.

Enough with the Brooks/Walter fiasco.

Dude's are backups.

Isnt this the first time the Raiders have ever had a #1 pick?

If they arent back-ups, they at least shouldnt be counted on as starters until they prove something.

Had one in the AFL, took Roman Gabriel, he wnt to the NFL. I think that is the only time.

That'd be sweet.

I doubt it, though; I think we'll stay put.

God, I feel great now.

Vindicated.

I want people to know how shitty our offense was, seriously, and learn about our d. I don't quite know exactly who I want right now but I'm happy that all the post-Super Bowl months buildup will be focusing on us, not the fucking Lions.

We've taken a few, though. Marinovich, Wilson, and Al tried to trade up to get Elway.

We don't have so much history in the top 5 to really make an educated guess, and I'd like a trade down, but I always would like a trade down.

This time I don't. If Quinn is the top rated QB, then fuck it. let's take him.

Agreed, brother.

Enough fuckin around with reclamation projects...Let's take the top rated QB.

Or Peterson.:)

I'm not adverse to taking Quinn if we bring in a top flight OC and QB coach to mentor him assuming we retain Shell for another season and we better spend a ton of FA money on our OL.

I'm really hoping this Detriot win puts and end to Parcells time in Dallas. Could very well set the table for Parcells to come here if Davis' health has deteriorated to the point where he's going to have somebody else takeover the day to day operations. All he'd need to do is give Parcells a piece of that 31% stake in the team... Then we'd really have a coach and a draft worth getting excited about.

"If Eli can do it..."

This is a huge opportunity which we really need to take advantage of. I actually think we might trade down, but only if we get a really good offer. Just how in demand is Brady Quinn. I will be hoping for a great bowl performance, senior bowl week, combine and private workouts.

That is exactly what we need, a big game out of Quinn. If it's him at 1 or someone later in the draft the Raiders simply have to get a QB.

Detroit didn't do us a favor. For bad teams, a first round pick is the perfect way to screw up and dig in deeper shit. We've seen it often in the NFL.

The Raiders have a big chance to reach even new lows by keeping Shell and drafting their way. At this point I dunno what are they gonna take, QB, RB or whatever. As usual, Al has a big surprise for eveybody, and lately, these tricks out of the hat have been atrocious.

A first round pick won't save our asses. We will continue mixing bad apples with good ones, expecting the rotted fruits to be restored to healthy level just because were the Raiders. Classic.

Detroit had even less valuable personnel and an incompetent GM, still had a better offensive output. If we can't answer why our offence is so bad, were condemned to repeat the same mistake again and again.

Shell maintained the team was not as bad as its record might suggest. "I think it can be fixed if you get personnel. If you add a player here, a player there, things can turn in a hurry. And I expect that will happen."

Just a player here and there and things will be fixed?????? Cmon! get real you old fart! As Bones has correctly stated everybody agrees he was a great player, NOBODY is saying he is a great coach.

So were doomed from the beggining of 2007 if we keep Shell. Matt Millen could do very good by taking him to coach the lions, then they really could have a real chance to get the first round pick in 2008.

At this point, we might as well have the first pick. It affords us with two courses of action:

1.) We are guarenteed to get the player we want. I will never forget the Orlando Pace year when the Lambs drafted him at #1. We of course went to Plan-B (Darrell Russell)

2.) Some team is salivating over a particular player and we can leverge that into a bounty of picks and still obtain a Blue Chipper.

I think most of Raider Nation has indulgded "Negativity Lane" a bit too much. What happened last year or even last week has no bearing on what the Raiders will do in this particular case.

I think we should look at this as a positive.
