Let’s go Spytek

Makes it easier when you have a need at every position lol. This draft was really unfuckupable as you can get, just as long as there weren't any major reaches which there wasn't. You could say McCoy was a gamble/reach but most draftniks seemed to like the pick.
Sticking and picking in a talent rich draft is a fine strategy. In a weaker draft with a huge degree of variance in prospect grades, where fit seems to be driving the board, trading up and down to get those fits, to me, makes more sense, otherwise you lose too much value. SpyGuy not only traded up and down, all but his last trade netted draft capital, in one cases far more an expected. He was also able to rid the roster with a chump, save $4.2M in cap space, and land another coverage safety.

The tough decisions are need vs. talent. We see it every single year. We have enough needs that Spytek had the luxury of just going by his board without having to worry about anything else.

Is that a tough decision or a foolish one?

Drafting for need doesn't tend to work well before the fifth or sixth rounds. And that is where needs were drafted.

Matches the not productive player.

Interesting.

"Almost all their additions overcame some sort of adversity in their college careers, whether that be underrecruitment, transfer or injury.

That’s representative of the character general manager John Spytek wants his team to play with."

Choosing to transfer is overcoming adversity? I guess we can add "adversity" to the list of words that have lost all meaning now.

Teams do it every year, multiple times a year. Spytek did it with 1.1, right?

LOL! Just think his head might not have been entirely in the game and part of reason he didn't get early touches. Or, he's just slow.

Haha I am with ya fully but just wanted an lol for that. I was a wreck for 2-3 years after my sister died.

Bech runs about as fast as her though. And she’s dead and weighed about 325 in her “prime”

Shit. Initial reports have them as nerds and film junkies instead of gangsters with hitman grammas like your boys Bowden and Arnette lmfao.

Give me some grinders with a touch of talent.

#SPYTEK
Speaking of Arnette, I watched him lead the Houston Gamblers to a win yesterday against the Columbus Aviators lol! He played pretty well.. UFL game was sparsely attended, maybe about 4,000 people, but was cool to bring the kids.

Thanks for the suggestion @Darkenblot

Holy shit, you may have experienced as much immediate family death as I have.

Hard to say. A lot of pre-draft rankings had Mendoza not just top as QB but as a prospect.

And no, a team like the Ravens under Ozzie Newsome don't.

Even the great Ozzie chased WRs.

Also drafted Elam in direct response to Reed retiring.
