Let’s go Spytek

Sure, I guess the question is whether you really needed to use the 1.6 pick to get that. I think he's gotta be a second contract player to be in the black resource investment wise. That's completely different than liking the player or thinking he's good though. Shit, I bought my kid a Jeanty jersey. Similar to investing in LBs, not the way I would have done it but at the end of the day, it just has to work.
Breakout potential. Stay healthy.

At the end of the next four years he may be the cap casualty we have to be okay with. Lots of guys could potentially be up for new contracts in the year before. Granted wanting to re-sign so many players would be a good problem to have for a change.

Disposable.

You guys have been hating on Ashton Jeanty because he was the 6th overall pick. I have been hating on Ashton Jeanty because he’s not Josh Jacobs. 😂

He’s our guy now so I hope he kicks wholesale ass.

Jeanty is fine... we're just bored.

Watching the A's molly wop NY right now though.

Shooting straight is all I do. Fake stats and modified pretend seasons is your jam.

Jeanty was a super early pick and he should give us super early pick production.

It ain’t more complicated than that.

Oh, you shoot straight alright. Thing is, targets tend to be small. You just shoot the side of the barn and celebrate and ask for props.

John Spytek was asked if any teams have reached out about trading up for the No. 1 pick and if the #Raiders will entertain offers.

His response:

“We’ve had a few calls and those teams know where they stand.”

#Raiders GM John Spytek on how they'll approach the impending QB battle

"The best guy will play. It's just really hard to play well at a really young age. We've seen plenty of quarterbacks do it recently... the best man will play."

#Raiders GM John Spytek on intangibles they look for in draft prospects

"Gotta love football, they need to be great teammates... disciplined, accountable... and a passion to play for the Raiders."

Noted a lot of guys like that chose to come to the Raiders and sought them out in free agency

#Raiders GM John Spytek on where their draft board is at at this point (roughly a week out of the draft)

There are "small tinkers" at this point in the draft process but most of the work is done

"I've never been anywhere where you feel like you've got too many offensive linemen. They're such a hard position to acquire. It's almost impossible in free agency, it feels like, especially at certain positions. Just because we've added certain guys through free agency doesn't mean that we won't be looking for offensive linemen, too. I'm on record as saying they're sexy as hell and I stand by that."

#Raiders GM John Spytek: "We had a great set of draft meetings with Klint and his staff last week. We got a lot of great information on how they fit with us. Right now, it's about getting the ten best players for the Raiders."

Feels like he's talking about RT when he says "especially at certain positions" ... good, young RT don't hit free agency often

#Raiders GM John Spytek on Jack Bech & Dont'e Thornton

"Two guys that have spent a lot of time in Las Vegas when they could be elsewhere... two guys that are determined to make the most of the opportunity that they have in front of them."

#Raiders GM John Spytek on how they evaluate QBs coming out of college

"Not a lot of college offenses look like NFL offenses right now... are they smart, can they process a lot of information quickly, do they make good decisions with the football, are they tough, are they good teammates, can they throw the ball at a level that's required to play quarterback in the NFL? Are they athletic, can they improvise, or do they have to play in the pocket all the time?"
