Let’s go Spytek

Hopefully he earns his draft position.

I think he needs about 1600 yards rushing and 600 receiving to do that.
Success is a team thingy. Hard for a stud WR to make numbers with a shitty QB on his back. Similarly hard for a RB to make numbers with no holes or passing game threat.

I doubt Jeanty gets enough touches for a 2200 yard season. Breaking tackles, yards after contact, yards after reception, explosive plays, etc., that’s where I’m going to judge him. That’s where I want him to be special.

His paycheck sets the bar at T15 RB this year. Even splitting touches with a poor OL and limited passing game, I expect him to clear that total yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, hurdle.

T15 RB at 6 overall.

Sometimes I dont even think the bullshit you type even makes sense for yourself.

I'm hoping for way more than that from a top ten "generational RB" as you called him all March and April.

At 1.6, Jeanty’s $8.2 million against the cap. Montgomery (15th highest paid RB) makes $8.25M per.

Where I want Jeanty to be special is on stats individual performance affects. Why did you jump over and omit that? Jeanty is already RB3 in missed tackle percentage among qualifying RB.

What you cited were stats the team’s performance and number of touches affect. As to those stats, I referenced RB15 as the floor of where he should be even on a bad team.

Getting you to shoot straight is a full time job. Lol

Shooting straight is all I do. Fake stats and modified pretend seasons is your jam.

Jeanty was a super early pick and he should give us super early pick production.

It ain’t more complicated than that.
#1 in percentage of rushing yards after contact and #3 in missed tackle percentage. That’s what he did his rookie year among all qualifying RB, in addition to leading all rookie RB in yards from scrimmage.

Nothing fake about those stats. They happened.

Nothing more complicated than your RB bias and head in the sand—faulting Jeanty for the play of others.

He's going to be fine.

Just likely never worth the pick we used on him.

Both things can be true.

Correct.
Jeanty will never be worth the #6 pick in his draft.
They better draft a RB late this time.
Jeanty needs a good backup to give him a break now and then.

“God bless[] the broken road that led [the Raiders] straight to [Mendoza].”

Bowers’ injury and Jeanty being drafted 1.6 to run behind an OL featuring LT Forsyth (704 snaps), OC Meredith (676 snaps) and Capa (538 snaps), where the mainstays were Parham (842 snaps) and Glaze (992 snaps), are part of that broken road.

My guess, Mendoza is not the only reason Kubiak excitedly accepted the Raiders’ HC job after winning the SB on live National TV. And why Brady/Spyguy felt confident in waiting for the SB for Kubiak. ShannaRat, Purdy, Kittle and McCaffrey have led SF to 8 playoff games in McCaffrey’s 3 healthy years.

McCaffrey makes ShannaRat’s O go. It’s not his father’s O anymore. ShannaRat not only paid McCaffrey, he traded half a draft (a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and a future 5th) for him—even though he suffered season-ending injuries 2 of the prior 3 seasons in Car.

Jeanty and his #1 ranked yards after contact percentage and #3 ranked missed tackle rate, versatility to play in multiple running schemes, including wide zone, and abilities as a blocker and receiver, fit Kibiak’s O, which was led by RB (Walker & Charbonnet) last year. The loathing of Jeanty b/c he was drafted 1.6 and played in a shit O behind a bad OL ranks right up there in stupid BR.net hating on shit.

Don’t worry, I’ll stop and let you in the Jeanty club car when the KMB&J railway line gets rolling. For now, I’ll just wave as it leaves the station. :wavey:

We all know that the change in coaching staff alone is going to greatly impact the players.

Of all those players returning from last season, I would argue that no other will benefit more from the changes in coaching staff than Jeanty.

It is usually unwise to judge a player after just one season in the NFL, but I would argue that in Jeanty's case it is almost criminal to judge him after one season given the coaching staff he was saddled with. Not to mention one of the worst OLs to ever run block in the history of the Raiders.

You were all over Travis Hunters nuts as I recall.

How's that looking?

I don't think people are really judging the player. It's obvious he's going to be really good. If he's able to maintain that level of play into a second contract the pick will be validated.

If he can be that crutch for Doza for 4 years that allows Doza to become more than a game manager through time I would be happy. Mendoza isn’t going to come out and be a 30 pass and 300-400 yard passer right away. If Jeanty can help slowly bring him to level of QB (as needed) it would be a solid investment.

Sure, I guess the question is whether you really needed to use the 1.6 pick to get that. I think he's gotta be a second contract player to be in the black resource investment wise. That's completely different than liking the player or thinking he's good though. Shit, I bought my kid a Jeanty jersey. Similar to investing in LBs, not the way I would have done it but at the end of the day, it just has to work.
