1. USC O has been ready for the NFL for a while. This is the guy that calls it so that tells me something
2. History of coaching in the family... kinda like rob ryan. Gives me some hope
3. Already announced he'll keep rob and i think that could help them both.
4. BMW anyone? If we do go with that whacked out trade for vick... Dwayne Jarrett at 10?
5. Youth at HC reminds me of madden a bit... some new blood coming in.

I somehow doubt it's Moss & Porter. My guess is that it would be Moss and our #1 for Vick and their #1. I think we will end up keeping Porter when it's all said & done.

If not Dewayne Jarrett, would about Marshawn Lynch?

BTW,

I'd take Mike Williams in a heatbeat. If we're going to "convert" Randall Williams, why not BMW? I see Shannon Sharpe big time with him. Classic Raider reclamation project.

Too early to reclaim him. He still thinks he is a WR at his current size.

Hey, if we trade for Vick, get rid of Porter and Moss, then draft a WR and sign a shitbag like BMW, all while trading away from Russel and Adrian Peterson, you can expect my Raider Fan Resignation Letter in with the morning mail.

If you thought Shannon Sharpe was an unwilling blocker, just wait until you see Mike Williams.

Is Antonio Gates a willing blocker? I think with so-called "pass catching TE's", blocking per se is an overstated term. These guys just need to chip on their way out to the pass patern. If he's willing to chip and occasionally lay a genuine block, that's probably enough IMO.

Comparing Antonio Gates to Mike Williams in blocking isn't in the same ball park. Antonio Gates isnt great, but he isnt Mike Williams with it. Mike Williams is a WR and plays like one, lets not be the ones to destroy it.

Blocking is more about willingness than skill. Perhaps, just perhaps, BMW has been humbled by his experience in Detroit, and perhaps, just perhaps, he would be rejuvenated about playing for a Lane Kiffin in Oakland?

BTW, I don't think the Vick rumor has much shelf life anyway.

I'm guessing our pick is Quinn, Russell or Petersen.

Agreed.

Agreed.

I love CJ and think he's the most talented player, but we'll keep one of Porter or Moss or both and won't draft him...

wishful thinking against reality. What we do know is that he hasn't been willing and lane kiffin as coach doesnt sell me on mike williams as a tight end. maybe wr, but he wasnt willing to change his weight for martz, now we are gonna ask him to gain weight, block, and be a TE. *cough*teyojohnson*cough*

Nobody asked me but I'd take BMW in a heartbeat... He's not a good fit in a Martz offense that requires fast twitch receivers, but the guy could fill a Keyshawn type roll... Keyshawn's not fast but uses his body well... As bad as this team has been in the redzone, I'd take a guy that can post up...Hell, I'd take Keyshawn if I could...

As appealing as Jamarcus Russell is, I'll take an offense that features Porter, Curry, BMW and Zach Miller working the middle of the field and Peterson pounding the rock 25 times again...

Is Curry going to be the QB in that scenario... :p

If we had Lorenzo Neal on the team, I might be willing to pass on blocking as a legit role for the TE to fill.

But having BMW as a TE would leave us with only 5 blockers, and four of those 5 suck ass.

Listened to a lot of the NFL network on Serius radio today & Solomon Wilcots thought that we would A.) Employ a zone blocking scheme (yet another change), B.) Retain both Moss & Porter and finally, C.) Draft DeMarcus Russell.

I agree with B and C.
Not saying I necessarily agree with both, but saying I DO, at this point, see them happening.

Not sure about A.

I hope we do all three.......really I don't care what type of blocking we do as long as it equals WINS.......
If we Keep Moss and Porter we have to Draft Russell....If we Keep them both and draft peterson I may give up...before you scream at me I would live with AP, I just can't Pass on Russell Right now with what we have.....

The thinkg I liked best was the length of the deal. 3 years with two option years, is a good sign.
