KC tackle Roaf decides to sit out Pro Bowl
The Kansas City Star
Chiefs tackle Willie Roaf, who struggled with a hamstring injury for much of the 2005 season, has decided he will not play in the Feb. 12 Pro Bowl in Honolulu. He had been expected to start for the AFC team, along with Chiefs guard Will Shields.
Roaf was replaced on the roster Thursday by Indianapolis Colts tackle Tarik Glenn, who had been selected as an alternate. Glenn was originally listed on the AFC roster in December, but he was dropped within hours after being notified of his selection because of what the NFL called a computer error in the tabulation of votes.
Roaf has been chosen to the Pro Bowl 11 times. Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, guard Brian Waters, tight end Tony Gonzalez and running back Larry Johnson also will make the trip to Honolulu this year as reserves.
