OK let's do some comparisons,,,,,,
Walter to Russell to Carr to Others?
Walter:
I really like because of the way he stays in the pocket and takes a hit?
No really I do he doesn't just shuck the ball up for grabs....... Now I like the upside of Walter but he doesn't have the pedigree of the other guys. He can toss the deep ball as well as Carr and Russell. He knows our WR's, and I see the power behind his throws and I know I saw him thread the needle last year.....Now He does fumble a lot, though then again maybe if he wasn't Hit so much he wouldn't fumble so much. I would be happy with Walter being the guy if we do two things, get a back up like a Bouman or someone with some experience. Or get someone to compete with him. I don't want to hand him the job, unless we have insurance. He needs to prove he can win it or at least have a Vet to be his Back up.
Russell:
I like his upside he seems to have all the right tools, Big, big arm, a little mobile, can thread the needle, he seems to have some touch. Not too sure if he is bright then again Joe Montana was as dumb as a box of rocks.....I would like to see him come in and either compete with Walter right away or sit behind another Vet. But Not Walter... My reasoning is that Walter gets nothing but pressure with the number 1 overall sitting behind him. I can see it now the Black hole will be holding up Walter puppets with a noose around his neck. A vet like a Bledsoe or Harrington someone that I would be cool with starting and then losing the job half way through the season like in Dallas last year, but that usually means the season is not that good......
Carr:
I think Carr can play and the fact that his O line stunk it up for how many years hasn't helped. He also was really wasn't helped by a few bad coaches and not the best players around him. Ideally I would love to see Carr and Walter compete, this way if Carr wins it doesn't mean Walter can't still have a Career once Carr is done. Walter is young.....If we get Carr and have Walter I don't see Drafting Russell. I would rather use that pick on someone that can produce like a AP or CJ......
What I don't want to see Carr come here and sit the bench or be the one that Russell takes out half way through the year.
Others:
Not sure How I feel about the rest of this stuff, Rodgers and or a Quinn I feel kinda the same about all of them. Not sure How I feel if they will be good or not. Just don't get a great feeling from Quinn and or Rodgers, I pray we don't go out and get Bledsoe. If we do I hope it is only to be a back up or short term until we get a Top QB to start Same goes for Harrington.
Is there anyone else out there worth a Look,,,,,and Just so we are clear NO TROY F'ing Smith that midget can stay in Ohio or become a AFL player. What about Stanton from the Mich. State.....I wouldn't mind seeing us go and pick him up later to compete with Walter for a year or two down the road if we get someone like Carr.......
