Just another Bay area Hater!

Was thinking about this last night. I can understand out of town media types not understanding what we've been through the last three years. They just see the results and figure our draft wasn't so great because they don't understand our needs. But for the local media to react this way is shameful. Don't they watch the games? Don't they study the team they cover? For a local beat writer to give the Raiders draft anything lower than a B+ just shows they aren't doing their job.

Oh well we're used to the hating. It's Raider Nation against the world and apparently we like it that way.

JaMarcus Russell and Z.Miller were the two top rated players at their positions...which happen to be our 2 biggest needs. That alone is worth an A+. We needed a RT and we got a guy who are coaches were obviously targeting early. We needed a pass rushing DE and got tremendous value in round 3 with a guy who was in everyone's top 20 juts a year ago. We got a deep threat to go with Curry and Porter. We got another top 10 pick from two years ago in Mike Williams to reunite with the OC who made him a star. We aquired a QB who fits our system with starting exp. That makes our #1 pick even smarter. Then we go ahead and draft Michael Bush. That should have been the cherry on top for the draft graders. This guy could be a future NFL star and was easily ranked higher than anyone in this draft except AP before his injury a year ago. Either way a 4th is not a risky gamble on a possible franchise player at RB. We go on to add more depth and special teams help, we take a few burners but we also take a few football players like the SS and the blocking FB. A blocking FB is something this team needs to imporve our lousy running game, another great pick. That saves us money on Crockett too.
If all thats not enough.. WE DUMPED RANDY MOSS AND HIS CANCEROUS COACH KILLING ATTITUDE AND GIANT SALARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A+ easy.

It really is strange the difference in the local media to the national view. The good thing is I think we may just have a thing or two to smile about this season and may not have to just sit there and take it like we have the last few years.

I honestly can feel the fear of the other AFC west teams. One of my freinds is a charger fan and he sent me an email confirming their soggy diapers

Glenn Dickey has been hating the Raiders ever since Al Davis supposedly kicked him out of the "inner circle" decades ago. If we went 15-1, Glenn Dickey would pen a piece crying about the one that we didn't win. That's just the way he is.

Oakland: Chris McKendry and Josh Elliott had a great factoid on "SportsCenter": Since 1990, Raiders' quarterbacks taken in the first, second or third rounds are a combined 5-18 as starters. So your challenge has been laid down, JaMarcus Russell: Can you win more than five games? I mean in your career, not in 2007. Ben Roethlisberger came into a great situation at Pittsburgh and was an instant success. Vince Young arrived at one of the league's best-coached teams and was an instant success. Russell is arriving at, well, let's just say the collapsed section of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is in pretty good shape compared to the Raiders. But don't worry, a guy who has never been a head coach at any level is now in charge!
