It's a great question. I can't help but be very concerned. That injury he suffered was not very good. It goes to show you that he has not been right all season. The guy has been playing with pain and now you see suffering all sort of damage now on his knee with the ACL, MCL, and PCL. It will take him the entire 2006 just to recover and such. I can't help but start thinking if he is ever going to be effective.
This brings me to my next point. If the Vikings win the draft of if the Niners win the draft and Vikings win the #2 pick, do they go after Lineart considering Daunte may not recover. If I am the new GM, I have no choice but to go with Lineart because he is the best player available and with the fact Daunte may not be around, Lineart may be the safe pick.
This draft pick is a very important pick. They can't screw up. That will be the first task of hand with the new GM coming up.
If Daunte was healthy and if the Vikings still had the #1 pick, Reggie Bush would be a no-brainer. Now, they got an issue that they have to address if it comes to the Vikings winning the pick when you look at Daunte's situation.
