Jamaal Brown went down for the Saints today. No word on how serious.

We know Booger McFarland is out for the year, probably.

Jarvis Moss went down in Denver. Not serious, though.

Anyone have word on the seriousness of McIntosh in KC?

Here ya go Mass! Nice Thread. 31 against one - the Raider Way. If not victory then mayhem.

Kansas City Chiefs "Fear the Worst" with Damion McIntosh
By Chris Section: Training Camp
Posted on August 7th, 2007

I reported earlier this morning that left tackle Damion McIntosh had sprained his knee yesterday in practice at River Falls, WI. Today's article in the Kansas City Star makes me feel a little more uneasy than I did yesterday.
Further tests were scheduled to determine the extent of the injury, but the Chiefs feared the worst. Coach Herm Edwards was already busy determining replacements from a short list that includes veteran Kyle Turley and inexperienced Will Svitek.

Turley and Svitek aren't really acceptable replacements at this point. Neither one has shown half of what McIntosh has during camp. For now, I'm going to breathe slowly and remember that we've been through this before (Note: The video is no longer there but you get the point). The Broncos had a similar scare yesterday when 17th overall pick DE Jarvis Moss twisted his knee. McIntosh's injury appears to be worse though.

PORTER GETS 'SCOPED

Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in Alabama. The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews, and not by the team's physicians.

Porter went to Alabama for a second opinion on Monday, presumably because he didn't like what the team physicians had to say. The fact that Porter opted to have the surgery performed by Dr. Andrews suggests that Porter felt more comfortable with him than with the team doctors.

It is the second surgery that Porter has had on his right knee in less than 15 months. Since there is only a finite amount fof cartilage in the joint, and presuming that this most recent procedure removed more of it, the term "bone on bone" could eventually become a reality for Porter.

Porter is expected to be out of action for two weeks, and probably will not participate in any preseason games.

Injuries Leaving Bucs Waiting

LAKE BUENA VISTA - The Bucs will have to wait at least another week to see how their revamped offensive line stacks up against an NFL opponent. The same also might hold true for their reworked linebacking corps.

As his team's exhibition opener against the New England Patriots began to draw near Monday, Bucs coach Jon Gruden all but ruled out the possibility of projected starting LT Luke Petitgout playing a role.

Gruden also questioned whether projected starting MLB Barrett Ruud would be ready to play Friday and all but ruled out the possibility of QB Chris Simms playing in the opener.

All three players are expected to miss the game because of lingering injury problems. Petitgout has a sore back, Ruud has a bruised left knee and Simms has been limited by a sore left elbow.

Quick hits

Terrell Owens' back pain is just spasms and isn't considered serious.

An MRI taken when Owens missed the Dallas Cowboys' practice for the second straight day, showed no problems.

Starting 49ers nose tackle Aubrayo Franklin sprained his left knee and will miss the preseason.

Franklin, who left Baltimore to sign with San Francisco in the offseason, was injured when two offensive linemen rolled onto his leg during a play.

First-round Broncos draft pick Jarvis Moss put a scare into himself and the Broncos when he twisted his left knee while doing a spin move during 1-on-1 pass-rush drills and was taken off the field on a cart.

An MRI exam was negative and Moss returned to the sideline for the afternoon drills, which were moved to an indoor practice facility because of heavy rains.

"I'm good. Everything checked out or whatever. It kind of scared me for a minute. I thought it was something real serious, but I'm fine," Moss said. "I'm going to go rehab tonight and hopefully I can go in the morning."

- Injury problems continued to hound the Giants yesterday. In a matter of mere-moments they had to cart two, count them, two players carted off the field. The first was linebacker Gerris Wilkinson, who appeared to injury his right knee in 9-on-7 drills. The second was offensive lineman Todd Londot, who hurt his left ankle in the same drill. To make matters worse, safety Gibril Wilson also had to sit out with back spasms.

WILFORD INJURES KNEE, TOO

It's been a week of knee injuries in training camp. For the most part, however, they have not been serious.

Jags receiver Ernest Wilford jammed his left knee against the ground during practice on Tuesday, and was carted from the complex for evaluation.

Wilford is listed as a starting receiver on the Jags' unofficial depth chart, ahead of first-rounders Matt Jones and Reggie Williams. The other starter is Dennis Northcutt.

BROWN IS OKAY

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that X-rays and an MRI on the injured knee of Saints left tackle Jamaal Brown were negative.

Brown was injured in practice on Tuesday, and a reporter from WLW-TV described it as serious.

Fortunately for the Saints, it wasn't.

Die Donkeys Die! Sic Semper Tyrannus

Jarvis Moss remained sidelined following the Monday morning scare he experienced with his left knee; he was on the field throughout the practice walking smoothly with his knee wrapped in a bandage. Other injuries, however, shook up the Broncos’ alignment as practice wound forward.

JOHN LYNCH: The 15th-year safety left the field late in the session after suffering a slightly bruised sternum on a collision with Travis Henry. Hamza Abdullah took his place with the first unit for the final periods of the morning.

“I’m all right. I’ve just been banging into Travis a little bit too much,” Lynch said. “Usually I grind through it, but they pulled me out … I’ll just come back and be ready to go tomorrow.”

MATT LEPSIS: The offensive tackle suffered what Shanahan termed “a little bit of a groin pull” and was replaced on the first unit by Adam Meadows for the final 45 minutes of practice.

“I’m not sure how serious it is right now, but it’s enough to keep him out,” Shanahan said. Lepsis did stay on the sidelines after incurring the injury.

MIKE BELL: The third-team running back was walking around slowly after being hit during team drills midway through practice and did not see much playing time thereafter, although he remained on the field.

QUENTIN HARRIS: The backup safety left the field after colliding with running back Andre Hall at the goal line during red-zone drills, and received on-field treatment on his right knee. He did not return, but he remained on the sidelines and did not leave the field until the end of practice.

Anybody else think DD can bring to this secondary what Lynch brought to the donk's? Most people thought Lynch was done too.

Lynch is done coverage wise. IMO he might be the most overrated Free Safety in the NFL. Dude is a liability in coverage when they bring him anywhere near the line of scrimmage. He does bring veteran leadership. But i dont think he brings enough to compensate his other weaknesses. i'd rather have Darius just be Darius and prove me wrong about his coverage skills. As far as the big hits go, i dont care about them.

You know, I always liked Darius, and he seems to be a pro's pro. I wonder what kind of on-field player he still is, and will reserve judgement until I see how things play out on the field.

Also, the injuries to Jamaal Brown and McIntoch in KC appear to be minor.

Steinbach...

Starting left guard Eric Steinbach, the Browns' blockbuster signing of the off-season, fell on his right knee in practice Tuesday afternoon and could miss up to two weeks. "We're having it evaluated," said coach Romeo Crennel. "We were inside on the turf and he came down on the knee. I would say he bruised it, but I haven't looked at it, and I'm not the doctor, so I don't know." Steinbach walked off the field about midway through practice with trainer Marty Lauzon and didn't return. He wasn't limping, but his knee brace was loosened. He may have undergone an MRI and wore a sleeve on the knee later in the day.

Problems in the Jets secondary were compacted today when second-year safety Eric Smith slipped on the wet grass and went down with what appears to be a serious knee injury. He was unable to walk under his own power and eventually had to be carted off the field.

Smith, who played in 15 games last season, had just returned this morning after missing snaps yesterday due to a knee injury. Unfortunately, no specific details have been given and it's just a waiting game at the moment. However, head coach Eric Mangini didn't sound overly pessimistic when responding to questions about the severity.

"He will get back as soon as he can," said Mangini.

Hopefully it turns out to be minor, but based on all the reports I've read, that doesn't appear to be the case.

With Darrelle Revis holding out and Andre Dyson under-performing, the Jets secondary is in dire straits. The last thing they can afford is to lose another body out there.

WHAT THE FUJITA ARE THE SAINTS DOING?

WWL-TV in New Orleans reports that Saints linebacker Scott Fujita was "seen on crutches and with his right foot taped up as the team returned from a morning excursion to a local water park."

Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune also reports that tight end Billy Miller emerged from the event with a large bandage on his forehead.

Hey, we generally like the idea of team-building exercises. But there's got to be a better way to let the guys bond that have them romp around -- and twist ankles -- at a water park.

How about bowling? Or cards? Or a Madden tournament? Or anything other than barefooted horseplay on wet, slippery surfaces?

I heard Jay Cutler may have tendonitis in his wrist on PTI. Throwing wrist? Sorry no links.

Jay Cutler: Bouncing Back From Wrist Issues

Update: Cutler suffered from tendinitis in his throwing wrist last week, a condition he said felt much better Monday, the Denver Post reports.

Recommendation: The injury didn't force Cutler to miss any reps, but the Post reported that Cutler's throws didn't look normal last week, often lacking velocity. Cutler wore a brace on the wrist which he kept hidden by long sleeves, and he intends to continue wearing the brace for another week. Cutler, who is expected to play one or two series in the team's preseason opener Monday, said his wrist is feeling much better this week. Still, while it doesn't seem like this injury will be a major concern, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.

I don't know. I dont wish injury on anyone, but this might be a future problem?

You're so much nicer than me.

My Personal Raider motto is, "if not victory then mayhem."
If you're lined up across from my team (when I played, now I watch) then I hope everyone hits you as hard as is legal. If that injures you, then guess what, it's football. My ankles blew out on me in HS and that was that (well some games since) I have to wear tape when I jog.
Cutler has tendinitis? Tough
He doesn't like it? Tell it to his sister, I'm sure she cares.

Added:

Nice guy? I don't give a shit. Good father? Fuck you -- go home and play with your kids!!
