Man, I come back from the Domincan, and find out that some kid younger than me isn't interested in our head coaching job, and some fricking fetus even younger than him is interviewing for the job.
Is Kiffen really 30 years old? That means in 1996 he couldn't buy beer. Cripes. If we hire this guy, he and Al at the press conference are gonna look like Hefner and the latest Playmate of the Month.
This offseason started out OK, I was happy to see Grandpa Tom shipped back to the hospitality industry, and was pleased to see Art get the boot. It kind of made me think that Al was willing to admit a wrong move, and maybe willing to alter his gameplan.
But now I'm starting to get nervous. No, not nervous. Dread is creeping upon me. I have maintained that this is the most important offseason in Raider history, and we are not off to a sparkling start.
My thoughts on a couple of the other items of the day:
1. Mike Vick: It's always wise to bet against blockbusters like this happening, and I really don't see it. But for what it's worth, I wouldn't be angry with Vick the player. I always thought he was being used wrong in Atlanta. I have a problem with Vick the person. I just don't see him rallying the guys. I see him throwing folks under the bus when things go wrong, and I think he has no intrest in improving his game. I think he's a loser. A selfish loser.
2. Bill Parcells: Raider front office position? Friendly with Al Davis? Hmmmmm...... Yeah. Right. We ain't that lucky fellas (and TG).
3. Super Bowl: Both the teams I wanted to win. I don't care who wins, because one QB that has gotten a lot of shit will have a ring. Nice to see the media darlings going home. BTW, Patriot fans? Yeah, Branch woulda caught that ball.
4. #1 pick: I don't care right now. We need a decent coach. At this point, I'd be happy with Fassell.
