Iggles want a new Carr

Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports the Eagles have contacted the Raiders about return man and cornerback Chris Carr.

The Raiders have inserted Johnnie Lee Higgins on punts and Carr doesn't see much action in the base or nickel defense. The Eagles recently brought back Reno Mahe, but Carr has a better track record of return production.

Of course I'd like to see what Philly is offering, but I'm not that inclined to move Chris Carr.
 
He's too valuable a ST guy just to let go for a late round pick. I just assume keep him thank you.
 
They have crazy depth on the D-Line...
 
Carr for Kearse.

Or Cole.

Or Bunkley.

Or Howard.

i like him too and this is in no way meant to be a hit against him. however if he can get us an RE that can rush the passer even on 3rd downs only... I'd mail him off personally

Id rather have Cole, Bunkley, Abiamiri, Kearse or Howard.

If we cant weasel any of those guys, he'll do.

Question: If we trade Chris Carr and Higgins gets hurt, where will we be?

Answer: In the same boat Philly is currently in...

Unless we're comfortable with using Fargas or Chris Johnson to handle the kick return game, trading Carr is kind of shortsighted considering Higgins is a rail thin rookie... Outside of his return abilities, Carr is a pretty solid dime DB when we play man coverages...

I don't think we would get anything much higher than a conditional 5th or 6th round pick for Carr... I'd rather just keep the guy...

LOL...What did a Dante Hall(who's far better imo) go for to the rams? low round pick sounds about right for a kr with mediocre-average coverage.

edit:5th round pick. with that in mind carr should be no higher than 6th rounder.

When did carr become valuable people? He's a fumbling KR who can be a muffed liability on PR's. In coverage he's at best average. Dont know if its worth it to trade him until we get an idea of our secondary(average/mediocre is still better than horrific). But value wise thats about right.
 
Persoanlly I don't understand why we don't use Carr in the nickle... the kid's a playmaker even if he is one a those patriot type midgets... no one else other than our staring corners seems to make plays.... why not put him in there?

He's very tenacious as well. I like him as the Nickel also. I've supported Stanford Routt the entire time, but Carr just might be the better option at this time????

Tenacious is a good description of Carr's game.

I've had this bad feeling that maybe Carr's status as an undrafted special teams player in contrast to Routt's All-Al athletic ability has been keeping Carr from getting a commitment.... hope I'm wrong.

He's just one a those kids that's a player IMO, but probably as un-Al an athlete as imaginable :(

Yeah i was just throwing that out there but.. they lost a game over bad punt returns muffs. Thats serious shit. Im not saying Carr is worth a starter but maybe he could be packaged for a back-up DE/DT. Ill say it again the Eagles lost week one strictly because they fucked up 3 punts.

Theres average PR's they can get for less. And honestly Carr hasnt really been much this year. I'd rather have Kiffin.

Kiffin? haha. He is still young, but im sure he was aQB in his day... I think you meant Higgins. I personally dont see us getting squat for Carr, but D-Line is the only place the Eagles could help us. There O-Line is HUGE and not mobile for the most part. I would give up Porter and Carr for Trent Cole! But honestly this is pointless discussion Carr isnt going anywhere. If he does it will be for a 5th/6th
 
First off, how is Carr a liabilty ANYWHERE on the field??

He makes tackles in the dime package when everyone else is running for cover.

He is a pretty damn good return man who can break a big one at ANY TIME!!

And he isn't a punk who feels he is entitled to PT, he just goes out there and earns it each week. Unlike a certain QB we have starting.

Also, anyone who thinks Al can pilfer an Andrews, Kearse or other personell like that from the Iggles is pipe dreaming!! 6th rounder AT BEST!!


Don't trade Carr, that is stupid!!
 
Carr has been one of our best DBs this year.... I don't trust the others enough to let him go. He is young and improving.
