I got a feeling the Raiders are gonna move up and take New Orleans place at #2.

Why? Maybe to get Mario Williams. It's the only sure way we can get him at this point after seeing him perform at the combine.

That would be very interesting if the Raiders were sitting at #2...they could have the USC/Heisman guy or take the DE they have never really had (what 6'7" 290 )

I also think if NO stays at two they are gonna take Willaims inspite of having invested #1 picks in Grant and Smith. The guy looks to be that good.

I'm just having a hard time believing Al will be content to see who falls to him at 7. It's like having other teams write your contract for a Transistion Player.

On the other hand Vernon Davis looked awesome and could play an integral role on this team to help out Brooks/Walter or Tuiasosopo.

What do you guys think?

I have firmly been in the Mario court for sometime...I don't like some of things about his motor that I have heard, but I want a true DE too, and he's just impressive, looks good even in game footage against good ACC competition.

Leinart gets alot of comparisons to the Snake, are they legit? If Art Shell really sees it, perhaps that's direction they are going.

This is just my thinking, but I honestly think because of how quiet we have been this year in FA, that we could be rebuilding and thinking we'll draft high, possibly Brady Quinn next year? He's more an Al Davis type, bigger arm and all of that.

I rank players that I wants us to draft in this order...

Mario Williams
Matt Leinart
Vernon Davis
AJ Hawk
Haloti Ngata

I've been scratching my head as to why the Saints would even consider Mario, short of moving him inside. Come to find out, Grant is entering a contract year. Maybe they figure they can upgrade and possibly even trade him after they take Mario? Or, more likely, use all 3 guys in heavy rotation, then maybe tag Grant and trade him for whatever they can get.

Ugh. Bastards.

For the first time ever...

I can't imagine a scenario in which I would be disapointed with this year's pick.

And yes... That includes Vince Young.

I can imagine at least 5.

Winston Justice being the 4th, for the record. The 5th being the inevitable Al Davis mega-reach happening at the top of the friggin' 1st round.

I don't see what good Vince Young is going to do us?

We have two first day QB's who are holding clip boards. Young will hold one 2-3 years. He's a dummy. (Just my opinion). I'd rather find out if Walter can play. There will always be another Vince Young. Remember Michael Vick? Young is Vick II.

I personally wouldn't want Vince Young or Vernon Davis. Both picks would be a mistake in my opinion. And yes, I'd be even more disappointed with Jay Cutler than Vince.

That would be a bad scenario. Bastards indeed. It makes sense for the organization. Still, bastards.

While I think we ahve bigger needs on defense if you wantto take the BPA Vernon Davis might be that guy at seven. Just sayin'. He'd be a great target for Brooks, Walter, Tui or whoever...kid has some game.

And don't forget Al wanting to "me too" the rest of the division with a stud TE. It could very well happen.

He's not first on my list for sure...

or even second... or third...

All I mean is that IF he was to become a Raider then I won't be throwing my usual draft day shit fit. For all his flaws, he has leadership skills that can't be taught. Sometimes you just gotta roll the dice IMO.

If he becomes a Raider (Vince) I am going to throw a major hissy fit on draft day. That I can promise.

After the intial complaining and mashing of teeth I'm gonna get behind the dummy and hope like a son-of-a-bitch he is the Messiah. :p

But yeah I suppose I'd rather have VY than one of Al's off the wall reaches because some dude runs a 40 yard dash fast --- there is always that concern on draft day. However I will say that Al isn't nearly as likely to make a crazy reach at #7 -- it's more his style to do that at 25 or tsomething --- 1986 comes to mind when the Raiders chose ~Bob Buczkowski, DE, Pittsburgh (24th)~ and there were a ton of WTF's through around by Mel and that kind. That was a shocker to be sure. But in those days the Raiders were damn good so it turned out to be no big deal.

Can't get away with that shit these days. We've proven that time and again.

As for 40 times, I'm feeling pretty good that Vern's 40 made Al forget what he was talking about before. If he's available, that means we won't get stuck with Devin Hester at #7 overall.
