Paul McQuistan, aka McUgly, aka Mask is our future at RT.

The dude is a straight up mauler, and I've been nothing short of astonished at his progression and fit within our offense.

The dude is mean, mobile and tough.

He hasnt given up a sack in 3 straight (Nor has the team for that matter) and has helped pave the way for a big year by Fargas.

Im more than comfortable with Paul as our future RT.
 
I would agree 007. Really had my doubts about him but he finally looks like a keeper. Even the much maligned Sims and Gallery have stepped up huge. O sacks in 3 games is incredible. Draft a center, and sign a FA OL or two and I think we finally might be on to something.
 
Who would have thought our O-LIne would be a strength? Crazy stuff, Those guys are sstepping up. Gallery was Mauling today too. Props to Cable.
 
I watched McQ quite a bit today and thought he played very well. He should be our future at RT. This is huge for our line going forward. Carlisle still has a few good years left and he's solid. Newbs is strong but the jury's out on how much more he has left in the tank. Gallery continues to improve and I think he'll be a fixture at LG for another 10 years. That leaves us with Sims, who is imo our weakest link. Move in Mario to LT (fingers crossed) next year and hope for the best. We still need to draft a center this year but our line should look like this next season:

LT - Mario Henderson
LG - Robert Gallery
C - Jeremy Newberry
RG - Cooper Carlisle
RT - Paul McQuisten

Mario's maturation is key but if this pans out I'd be very comfortable on offense. Throw in Miller and we have a heck of a line. Russell, Bush/Fargas, and Griffith would be able to do some serious damage.
 
As much as we bag on Sims the fact is nobody on this roster has been abloe to beat him out. Not the second pick in the entire draft, not Henderson who can't even be activated on Sunday. Nobody.

So until we bring somebody with some talent in here (probably a FA) I guess Sims is the best we have. I'm not fellin' Henderson unseating Sims by next season. Mayb e having Gallery next to him has made him better. Overall the OL has really played very well the last few weeks. Very encouraging.
 
I agree. I'd be willing to retain Sims if he's willing to agree to re-do for a cap friendly deal. He's good insurance if someone goes down and until we can get someone up to speed to be his replacement.

Why would they do that? That would be awesome for us. Id take him and Chris Perry as a 3rd string RB.
 
That would be nice if we could go up against back up DLineman on a regular basis.... but playing well against a bunch of backups is about as impressive as looking good in the preseason...

LDE Josh Thomas.... started a total of 6 games in 4 seasons.
RDE Jeff Charleston.... made his first career start today.

If they could have done that with Freeney and Mathis in there... then maybe today's performance would mean something... in my opinion.

Does KC's solid DE tandem count?

Or Elvis Dumervil, Tim Crowder and Jarvis Moss?

In the end, all the guy can do is line up across from his man and beat him, and he did that today, and the two weeks before that.

You can't fault the guy for playing so well, he doesnt choose who he lines up against...:rolleyes:

When you think back on the seaons it's realloy amazing how many games we have been in in the fourth quarter in spite of the horrible play at QB and the collapse of our defense. Although the defense played probably the best game of the season today still when push came to shove they let the Super Bowl champs move the ball down the field and socre the winning points. :p

We still have some work to do up front.

BTW, did Stu play today?

As for Mc...I think I'm just about sold. Can't complain at all.

Did Robert Mathis even play this week? I wasn't paying attention.

Give the line some credit.

The Raiders lost today, but this team is light years ahead of last year and on the ascent. Sorry you refuse to see it. The "negativity" angle is stale.

I'm proud of this team and look forward to the very near future....
 
Seriously. Look around the division. The Raiders have a chance to compete for the West title for the next several seasons, barring the complete busting of JaMarcus or early departure of Kiffin.

Thanks for reading my mind and posting this first. Anyone dissing the way the Raiders line has been playing is just being a hater and looking for things to hate on. Guess that's expected from SoCal.
