i hope this isn't true but according to art

I wouldn't be worried. We have to see Walters developement from a long term standpoint. When Brooks gets back, he will get his own dose of hard hits and sacks, and after a few losses Shell will bench him for nothin'.

If Walter goes tho the bench, this will just fire up his wish to play and at the same time watch the things in perspective. After all is his same offensive unit When the moment comes again, he may be firing on all cylinders.

Everything I'm reading lately is that Shell isn't in a hurry to bring Brooks back and that Walter will start Sun.

What else can he say without completely alienating Brooks? While I'm sure Aaron can see the writing on the wall, the coach can't just come out and say, "to hell with that guy!" So, for right now while Brooks is still rehabbing, you trot out the whole "you don't lose your job due to injury" line and cross that bridge when you come to it.

Now, when Brooks is cleared to play again... THAT'S when it'll get interesting.

Good point Stepper.

I bet these coaches get so sick of the same questions over and over again. Yes, exactly what is he suppose to say at this point? No sense painintg himself into a corner. If Walter is progressing and the Raiders are getting better I don't think Brooks will be playing anymore this year baring injury.

At his press conference Art said Brooks had to be able to do everything they need a QB to do and make all the throws, and he can't do that yet. He also said Walter will start Sunday.

If our offensive line doesn't start blocking, I think Brooks will see some more action this season, if only because Walter will get banged up. As it stands, we're giving up an average of 5 sacks a game and are on pace to surpass the Houston Texans' league record for most sacks surrendered in a single season. Remember that commercial that had David Carr doing his snap count behind center with all of the offensive linemen edited out of the shot? Yeah, that's Andrew Walter this year.

Another thing I'd note is that while Andrew's poise has been encouraging, he's 1-3 as a starter. Don't think for a minute that if Walter isn't getting this team into the winner's circle a couple of times that Aaron Brooks won't be back in the picture at some point.

That said, I really would rather see Walter finish out the season as the starter.
