Here's Art's weekly press conference vid

I don't know what else you can say at this point.

Dunno which one this is, but I TIVO all of them and listen carefully to what he's saying. The guy DOES know his shit. I particularly was impressed with the foreknowledge of Denver's strike to Walker. They analyzed Denver's tendencies and knew that they like to take a chance deep once a quarter and there was only a minute or two left in the first.. so they communicated to Mug that he needed to be hyper-aware of that.. and he just failed to play the ball in the air.

As Rupert keeps saying, "execution".

Art Shell is taking the right approach IMHO, I just hope that we (and Al) can muster the patience to stick with him and the program he's trying to implement.

(that and a lack of developed talent to boot)

It's interesting that the press is finally learning how to ask Art questions. Now that they're doing that, we're getting to hear more of what Art has to say.

He's not willing to talk about BS, and he's not willing to give you detailed descriptions of anything a rookie scout wouldn't see on the game tapes. He's also learning how to say things more quickly. He can now describe things he wouldn't attempt before.

Absolutely. I seriously doubt you'll ever see Art Shell go into a Dennis Green meltdown or be quippy and cute like Chucky. He's more of the no-B.S. mold, which I'm perfectly fine with. Not as entertaining to watch perhaps, but that isn't so important as knowing what the hell you're doing.. and I get the impression that he's still feeling out what he does and does not have with this team and is making adjustments, tweaks and is coaching them up as they go through this season. This season is for all intents and purposes a 20 game preseason leading into 2007.

I get the sense that Art & Al knew this going in. They probably did not envision 0-5 at this point, but both men said during the Art Shell hiring press conference that "it would take time", that's about as close to a public admission that we're a team on the rebuild as you'll ever hear from the Raider Brass IMO.

That's the way I'm looking at it as well.... so that currently makes us 4-6 right?...

I support Art, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't real iffy at best in regards to choice and implemenation of offensive scheme... I just don't think we're doing a real good job adjusting to what the defense is giving and taking away from us on a given Sunday....

OK enough is enough. I'll all for finding the silver lining in this thing but hehehehe...come on HBoy...we haven't seen 4-6 since the 8th grade picnic. :p

Oh well...you have to draw pie charts around this place. Raider Fan 'ya know. :)

It's funny when Art get's a little sarcastic with the media (when asked about Moss shortarming & Porter starting).

Bwahahahahahhaha

Where's the part about replacing Tom Walsh?

OMG. He said that Chad Slaughter has long arms. With all due respect, GAWD, I'm glad Bill isn't here right now!

yea, that statement you just made would have led to atleast 5 extra pages and 2 extra threads.
