I was actually going to fuck around with the Twitter links and see if there was a difference between links from Twitter on web browser and links from the app.

There is a difference, but I assume everyone already knows that by now.

oddly enough, that's what I came here to test, to see if I can get x to work.

I'm out of ideas though.
 
@Crow says the way is to use the twitter app and that way the link comes as twitter.com.

my phone updated it to X unfortunately. When I copy link from my iPad which still has Twitter app it still works right.
At first it was just links from my phone that weren't working, now the ones i get from my browser also do not work.

Fuck's sake. Well, it was working last night. So much for that.

I'm thinking it's just a matter of this Xenforo feature/add-on/whatever needing an update to account for the Twitter name change. I'm no message board gearhead, but it seems like it should be an easy fix on their end.

@Crossbones @Handicapper General Is that something that can be modified in the admin control panel here, or would it have to come from Xenforo?

My app turned to X a while back. The link I posted above is the only time it's given me an x.com link, though. I'm thinking maybe that was due to user error.

I just copied this link from the app, and it's a twitter.com link.



Why there would be such variance is beyond me, but I'm certain Elon is behind it.

That's what I was fucking with yesterday. The addon maker is going to have to update it.

what makes it more cumbersome, is that at least on my computer, if I type x.com/whatever, it will change it to twitter.com/whatever, so it's more like a redirect than anything existing on its own.
