General NFL News Thread - 2026

Well we picked the one guy that 4-5 other teams wanted as well.

Miami has 7 guys they claimed off waivers that have to get up to speed in 2 weeks and ready to play week 1. Unless 5 of them make up their inactive list week 1. Making lots of moves just seems inefficient unless the coaching staff has worked with them before. At least at this stage of the game.

Mia is fishing for talent and tanking at the same time; win/win

Nobody is making waiver claims with the expectation they're supposed to start week 1. It's just an exercise in upgrading your developmental depth players. There's something to be said about the benefits of time in a system but there's also some hubris in the position that none of the players you drafted could be upgraded.

Jim Harbaugh said the competition at left guard is still ongoing between Trey Pipkins and Kayode Awosika.

Harbaugh said Travis Burke’s emergence as a swing tackle has made it possible that the Chargers play both Pipkins and Awosika.

Harbaugh called it “platooning” guards and playing the “hot hand.”

So it's not just us.
That's hilarious! Platooning guards! Hope JPJ stays healthy and plays well so we don't join that party.

When you bring in 7 two of them will be active game one. Undoubtedly not as starters but an injury here and there could force them into the lineup.

No doubt pride does come into play but, so does continuity. Like I said I don’t expect things to be stagnant with bringing in guys. I’d imagine it will be more of a trickle than a flood.

Yeah, I care less about actually bringing people in more than I find it interesting how resistant Spytek seems to be about it.

Yikes.

CTE is a hell of a drug.

Obviously nobody is releasing good players. Bottom of the barrel players are on the market.

You should be scouring the teams with good rosters. Sometimes, they can't keep everybody just because of a numbers game. I mean we routinely say only about two or three players on this team would start most other places, so it would follow the same logic that they have better backups to the backups than ours.

The Saints claimed Richardson.

New Orleans really does grab everything we toss out.
yep seems that way just noticed it myself

Former Cowboys QB Joe Milton cleared waivers today and is now a free agent.

Curious.

#Colts GM Chris Ballard blasts the idea of NFL players going back to play college football:

"That's the stupidest sh*t I've ever heard. Your entire life, you fight to get up to the NFL. But now we’re gonna go back? OK! That makes a lot of freakin’ sense.”

#Raiders GM John Spytek on NFL players going back to play college football:

“I’m not giving you any Chris Ballard quotes.” 😂😂
