General NFL News Thread - 2026

Kind of crazy it's been 17 years since McNair's murder. That was legit shocking when it happened. Like first of all, who knew he had this whole secret life fucking crazy young chicks in the wide open in Nashville, bachelor pad and all, and then the murder in itself still left a lot of questions.

Put his body on the line for his teammates and his libido. Fucking shame it ended the way it did.

I feel like I should know what this means, but I'm drawing a blank.

Been saying it, won't play another down in the league. It's been giving me Tre Mason, Chandler Jones vibes for months. Like dude personality totally different and his mind is gone.

He was one of my favorite players to watch from that era after he learned how to pass. Outside of Josh Allen, it's one of the more remarkable stories of a guy becoming a way better QB than I initially thought possible because of the starting point and play style.

And all due respect to Derek Mason and them, if they had gotten McNair some better weapons, who knows...

Not to mention his HC most of his career was Mr. Mediocre, Jeff Fisher. It's why I'm glad Josh Allen is getting a new HC just so he gets a shot at something different when we've seen it end the same way repeatedly under McDermott. Last year was all his fault though, lol.

Of the ten pro players in Backyard Football 2002 (released in 2001): two are dead via suicide or murder - McNair and Seau; two more were off their teams in a year (Bledsoe and McNown), one retired due to injuries (Terrell Davis); another was done in three years (Gannon).

In fact, McNown wasn't on the team (the Bears) that the game portrays him for.

Favre, Ricky Williams, McNabb, and Kearse escaped relatively unscathed.

The Madden Curse wishes it was as efficient.

He was one of the toughest QB's to ever play IMO. I watched the guy literally play on one good leg. He carried that team on his back.
