Gameball:

Raider defense yet again, although they did get chewed up against the run late in the game...We're talking 125 total yards against. -5 passing yards is amazing.

Special consideration goes to:

Terdell Sands: An anchor in the middle we've lacked for a while. He's only a role player because he doesnt have the stamina to play more, IMO.

Burgess: 1.5 more sacks for the leagues premier pass rusher.

Aso: This guy is developing into a shutdown corner. He locked down Andre Johnson today, and is a legitimate number 1 CB in this league.

I wouldnt trade our top two CB's for any other pair of CB's on any other team straight up...

Thats all I got.

Chris Carr was also very good on ST.

A big dirty teabag goes to:

1)Randal Williams
2)The O-line
3)Aaron 'Mister Cerebral' Brooks
4)Janikowski
5)Randy Moss
6) Alvis Whitted
7)The O-line
8)Art Shell
9)Special Teams kick coverage
10)Tom Walsh.

I thought the offensive playcalling was pretty damn good... a damn sight better than we've seen around these parts for years.

Unfortunatly we have a bunch of idiots in helmets... but, I see definate improvement in our future with Shoop.

He did all the things we've been asking for: three steps, quick hitters to Moss, slants, screens, posted up Anderson, and Rashard Lee looked like a starting NFL RB when he got action.

We've just got to many undrafted, unwanted turds manning the offense.

I know you think he's a stiff 007, but I'd really like to see Walter perform with the benefits of this new offense. Brooks has some mobility, but not enough to really get me excited and he's just flat fucking stupid.

I wanted to add that Andre Johnson has been an absolute stud all season, and IMO it's really impressive that we completely shut him down.

This is a sweet lil' defense we have here fellas

Might as well ask the question and anybody who wants to chime in please do so.

Why is it that the idiots in the helmets are the culprit now that Walsh is gone but not when he was here? Dropped passes, sacks, fumbles, ST break downs, missed FG's....??????

I was under the impression that we all agreed we had a long way to go in quality on offense

Clearly the difference to me was that I wasn't frequently watching our QB stand back there for 4-5 seconds until half the D met him there. We were actually able to own some clock when the dumbasses weren't giving the ball to the defense.

Special teams definatly went out of their way to show their asses today, but I dunno whta that has to do with the O?

Sadly, with all those misques, it was still our best offensive output all year...

225+ passing and 100 on the ground.

Walsh was too vanilla and a change was welcomed.

If you ask me, I still blame it on the coaching staff. Clearly there's no discipline, concentration, attention to detail, or accountability... and that kind of stuff starts in practice. Pretty much an illustration of why I think the entire offense has mailed it in... Nobody on that side of the ball is playing hard on a consistent basis. We don't see these kinds of breakdowns on defense because those guys have bought into the system on that side of the ball.

Bottom line... this offense still got shut out in the 2nd half. I credit a lot of that offensive output to the defense not knowing how to game plan a new OC... Once the half time adjustments were made, Shoop was as much of a non-factor as the bed and breakfast goon.

We did have 2 good 2nd half drives that normally would have resulted in 2 field goals. Thats the worst luck have 2 hit the upright.

yes the drives were better, shoulda let Jano rest for the week, but the drives were better. I still dont know how much we are working with since we still are stuck with Walsh's playbook.

I don't know... we had 6 drives in the second half...

The first two were 10 and 13 play drives that ended in missed field goals... On one of them we messed up a 4th and 1 inside the 10 with a delay penalty...

One was a three and out...

Two ended with Randall Williams fumbles after completions, one on the very first play...

The last one was a 12 play drive that ended with a pick in the end zone...

Three long drives that should have resulted in points... Unfortunately, that qualifies as progress for this team... Shoop had two practice days and a walk through to prepare with... Let's see what he does with a full week to prepare and implement...

* On another note, I think our year long second half collapse in run defense could be attributable to the lack of depth we have at DT... Sapp and Kelly are both one gap guys and this is Sands first go around playing significant snaps...

Yeah a lot of those plays still had Walsh's dirty prints on them. I didn't expect wholesale changes with three day notice. I don't know why we went away from the quick hitches that we opened the game with but we did stay committed to the run for most of the game.

And Hawthorne is a 1-gapper too. Sucks seeing Rashad Moore fat ass clogging up stuff in the Jets' DT rotation. We should have kept the extra DT instead of going with 10 offensive lineman. That 27 to 24 offense to defense ratio sucks for the D.

Who'd thunk we'd be critiquing our run defense when we let up 120 yards total in the game. :D

I don't remember seeing Taj out there today. Was he deactivated?

Is Haynesworth playing for the Titans or is he still suspended?

The Good

1.) Nmandi Asomugah & Fabian Washington - Both were shut down corners today. What more is there to say?

2.) Sam Williams - Perhaps his best game all year. Has been overshadowed by Kirk Morrison & Thomas Howard most of the season, but he has now become a legit player at this level.

3.) D-Line - The late breakdowns against Ron Dane aside, these guys were awesome. There pressure against Carr was consistent and the sack/forced fumble by Warren Sapp resulted in a TD. Tyler Brayton continues to do a fairly effective "Bobby Hamilton" impersonation as a solid run stuffing DE and Derrick Burgess.....what a pass rusher.

4.) Rashard Lee - His performance is mared by the fumble, but he did enough things well to be regarded as a promising player. Appears to have a good burst to go along with his size, can catch the rock a bit and is decent in pass protection.

The Bad?

Ya'll saw it, but I will say that Jake Grove continues to underwhelm at C.

You can't run 3 step drops and have the the middle of our OL shoved back into the QB's face. That happened all day today...Jake Grove? Forget it.

Kevin Maewe was a free agent, he's leading that Titans line...

Just the kind of wiley vet we need :(

Wrong!!! Our best offensive output was against Kansas City 326 Yards. Only 302 today. But don't let the truth interrupt a good delusion.

Shoop didnt turn the ball over three times in the second half.

Fact is, we had 2-3 good drives that were stalled because Aaron Brooks blows and Randal Williams is a scrub.

I thought we called a good enough game to win. PLayers didnt play good enough on offence.
