We can't pick good players or develop a QB.

Did we suddenly get better at hiring coaches??

I don’t have an answer for you. I know in order to be a good team you need a good QB.

Maybe we get lucky one of these years I don’t know.

And you need a guy who fits the O you run. If you pick him, you keep the O.

The guys who succeed at QB (good stats) and win games are in stable situations.

Telescope took advantage of Bowers and JPJ falling to him. Glaze is the guy who hints at maybe the GM knows something about talent. QB is a whole 'nother level of evaluation.

Yup, hit on the QB and you can start building everywhere else. A good QB hides a lot of flaws. I genuinely believe if you put Mahomes/Allen/Lamar/Hurts/Stroud on even this current Raiders team that we'd be a contending team in this league. Go get your fucking QB and build the team around them. A stud QB does wonders for the morale and effort of a team as well when they know they're going to be in every game.

Systems tend to stay the same if the QB is doing well.

What you're saying has merit obviously but I'm also a firm believer that QBs either have it or they don't. Like all positions, you can prop up a lesser talent with enough support but that also tends to fall apart quicker too given all the moving parts necessary to make it work. It's just harder to do the scheme fit thing with a QB than other positions. The type of QB you need to be consistently competitive year in and out is the system.

You also need some fuckin stability in terms of the coaching and schemes. Our run blocking was decent last year and it's just gone completely to shit. That's a big reason I'm down on AP. I thought he was Mr Raider and going back to the ways of Raiders with power blocking, vertical routes, etc. Then he lets Davante dictate who his OC will be. Weaksauce.
