Teams with horrible QB situations. Cleveland and Jets are fucked b/c Watson and Rodgers suck now. Miami is fucked b/c they gave Tua all that money and the dude is one bad hit away from potentially dying. Indy has an injury prone guy but is stuck with him for a while and my guess is Tenn will stay with Levis for one more season. NYG need to do enough to pick after us. Of all these teams, the ones that 100% for sure will be looking for a new QB next year: Raiders and GIants.

There are a lot of teams with dire QB need that will want to grab a guy. We need to keep losing, we can't hope someone is going to want to trade out.

Who said it was a guarantee? Winning more games guarantees we get stuck holding our dick when the top QBs are on the board though.

So I guess keep losing until you get it right. Didn't the Bucs lose like 26 in a row? Or was that the Saints?

Last year I looked at QBs selected in (I think it was) the first five picks of each draft, going back to Stafford’s draft.

It’s roughly 50% hit rate for those players, of at least a level of competence (some years as a starter).

Looking at the reasons for busts - of course, there’s no single reason. But I wonder if you could put together a model similar to that bloke who analyses and predicts American presidential elections ( he’s got all of them right, bar one for years and years). He’s got his ‘13 tests’, and he says the winner will be the one who gets a majority of the 13 tests ‘right.’

I think you could put together a similar model for QB success. So (for example) people used to point at ‘more than 20 starts’ at college, or ‘not a spoon-fed college system out of shotgun’ as signposts to success. And of course, there are others in the pros - good and stable OC situation …

I think you need to identify all of those tests and address as many of them as you can. You don’t need someone to hit on all of them, just like no-one wins the presidency hitting on all 13.

Raiders can't currently put a rookie QB in a position to succeed or develop one either.

There is no relegation in the NFL unfortunately so we gotta try something else.
