Food & Drink thread

In Florida they're dolphin and in the Pacific they're Dorado. Dorado get much bigger. We caught a 75 pounder marlin fishing out of Cabo. Gave half of the meat to the captain and crew, then had enough left to feed us and give the rest to the housekeepers.
same exact species. Thats a huge Dorado, I think biggest I ever caught was around 45.

I find Costcos seafood prices to be really expensive, some of the meats too. The best deal are those little lamb chops they sell for $5.99 lb.
rack of lamb is a good deal and prime beef better than anywhere else.

The guy that caught it was really short and the thing was almost as tall as him hanging up. Great eating fish and fairly reasonable. I'd have to say red snapper, cobia and wahoo are my favorites.

Catching a Wahoo is on my bucket list.

Worst thing about cobia is all the damn amber jacks you have to fight off. Still a fun fish to real in but I’m not eating AJ as they are not great IMO.

Whiting is also great eating fish especially if fried. As a kid growing up in NH I remember eating smelt quite often and was always a favorite of mine. It’s on my bucket list to go back to NH or Maine and get some again.

I like AJ. Most of the pelagics are pretty tasty except jack crevalle

That reads like that Facebook thing sad girls post: She was poetry, he was illiterate (or something like that.

He loved cornbread, she made fry bread.

I don’t know why but that just struck me as funny.
Exactly how it went down.

They were from two very different cultures. He missed his moms cooking no doubt.

My Dad loved cornbread my Mom made fry bread.
I'm guessing Mama's tribal?

It's weird how different the fry bread is from around the state. Navajo up north vs Yaqui/Tohono O'odaham here in the south are similar, but have a distinctly different taste and texture. Haven't tried any central, since I never see any roadside stands around the Phx area.
