What is Fernando Mendoza's CEILING as an NFL QB?

"When I watch Fernando tape, it's timing throws, the back shoulders, the placement of these balls, that's Tom Brady & Peyton Manning like."

Pretty happy Fernando gets to learn Kubiak’s O and Kubiak gets to learn more about Fernando while Kubiak installs the O and Cousins prepares to start. IDK how many 1st team reps Cousins needs — obviously enough to get on the same page with Bowers & Co. — but I assume Fernando will get his work in.

Curious how they handle that. They don't want Mendoza to start, but they obviously want to upload as much QB1.exe into him as possible while Cousins is the starter. A 50/50 split of first team reps would make me happy, but we'll see how it goes.

He has no ceiling.

10+ titles and counting
Mendoza needs to figure out the pro game, which includes taking snaps from center and throwing over the middle, and stop taking sacks. Kubiak has to rewire him. That’s another reason I’m glad Counsin’s here.

He does need to work on all those things. Indiana was also a one read offense, mostly. His best weapon is Bowers and he'll need to learn to layer throws to him in the middle.

Dane Brugler:
Mendoza will need to prove himself with more full-field reads in the NFL, but his intuition, throwing accuracy and play confidence are superpowers and will smooth his transition to the next level. He projects as a mid-level NFL starter and a more mobile version of Bernie Kosar.

“Superpowers” and “mid-level”?

So a guy who never quite achieved success the way he could have playing for a failed franchise after winning a national championship “in Miami”. Went on to win a SB as a backup. After football and all the money he earned he wasted most of it on bad business decisions drugs and alcohol.

Fernando Mendoza had a storybook rise from no-name prospect to certain No. 1 pick in the draft.

And he tells @GregBishopSI that he followed Tom Brady’s methods long before it became clear they would join forces with the Raiders

Louis Riddick is hearing that projected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza is already "way ahead" on learning Klint Kubiak's West Coast offense
