S - Gibirl Wilson - I have jumped on the bandwagon with the rest of you.

CB - Nnamdi Asomugha - No Brainer just re-sign him!

LB - Lance Briggs - I know, big money but him back there with Capt Kirk and Howard HOLY CHIT!

LB - Karlos Dansby - I think he turned the corner this kid is on the verge.

LB - Terrell Suggs - Why not if we can get him, a Defensive playmaker

LB - Clark Haggans - if no Lance or the rest, he is a solid Vet.

DT - Tommy Kelly - Once again Needs resigned even more if Sapp is done.

DT - Albert Haynesworth - he is a stud DT not many of them out there. Hope he keeps his nose clean.

DE - Jared Allen - Has to not want to be in KC, and is a Bay area Native....he may be breaking records or helping us big time playing opposite Burgess

DE - Justin Smith -Solid on the D line hopefully he is looking to get out of the natti....

DE - Travis LaBoy - I wanted us to draft him I would think he can't be worse then some people we have now...

C - Jeremy Newberry - I wouldn't mind him here, but I'm not sold he can hold up,,,so maybe..Go after a Jeff Faine?

G - Alan Faneca - I know it would happen but if he was to come here and play RG.....two long hair mosters in the inside run.....any RB would love to be here.

OT - Sean Locklear - A healthy Sean would be good,
I hope we can get one of these guys...

OT - Jordon Gross - Solid Vet that has started and would be great at either side.

TE - Nothing there...I wouldn't mind a Pollard to be the 3rd and cut the Nascar guy.

WR - Andre Davis - Vet that would be solid, but isn't that Curry?

WR - Bernard Berrian - Local guy that may want to come home, I am not sure he is ready to break into the next level but he is the best FA out there (I left that F-Head Moss off)

WR - David Patten - Look at this guys numbers late this year, he was really making a nice turn he could be a nice Vet pick up.

WR - Ernest Wilford - I like his potential, maybe more then Berrian sorry guys...

Also No Jerry Porter, I wouldn't complain if they re-sign him but he has proven he isn't worth a number one, and his additude needs some adjustment.

RB - Justin Fargas - OK let me start by saying if we re-sign him we don't break the bank to do so. He is injured to much and we already have Rhoades. So if he comes back it's a low price and he and Rhoades could be a nice 1-2 punch!

RB - T.J. Duckett - I wouldn't mind us picking up a RB with some size since neither Rhoades or if re-signed Huggy don't....Someone that can run straight forward.

RB - Jamal Lewis - He has a few years left, but would be a nice addtion but Cleveland won't let him go.

RB - Rock Cartwright or Musa Smith - See Duckett......same thing.

QB - Josh McCown - he is goo enough as a back up. A little mobile can show JR how to move better in the pocket. Don't really care if he comes back but he is the only QB out there I would bother with..and I still wouldn't pay him much......

I suspect we will be shopping from the "Former first round draft bust for another team" aisle, the "Can we squeeze another couple of seasons out of a once damn good player" aisle, the "Let's see if a constantly hurt player can stay healthy with us" aisle and the "Hey, he flashed in limited time for another team, let's see what he can do as a starter" aisle just as we always seem to do...


Maybe having Kiff around changes things, but until I see different I don't expect us to go after any of the top tier dream offseason FA's... I more or less expect we'll follow the same blueprint we always do and come out with 3-4 of these level of FA signings....

Mike Brown S (Bears): Due 3M and hasn't been healthy in a long while so likely to be cut... Just the kind of former stud we'll roll the dice on hoping he can stay healthy for a couple of years...

Adam Archuletta S (Bears): 1st round bust that may be servicable if used in a John Lynch extra LB type role, kept out of cover 2, and subbed out with an extra corner in passing situations...

Takeo Spikes OLB (Philly): Would count 5M against the cap and likely to be released... Still very productive and could have a William Thomas/Romo couple of productive years for us... Can play either weak or strongside depending on the scheme IMO...

Kwame Harris OT (SF): First round bust we may throw to Tom Cable to see if he can get anything out of him...

Keith Traylor DT (Mia): Old fat ass that can still play the run in rotation and in short yardage situations...

Isaak Sopoaga DT (SF): Problems staying healthy till this year, but the kind of freakish, look good coming off the bus athlete Al likes...

Jevon Kearse/Jerome McDougle DE (Philly): One was once elite, one a can't stay healthy first round bust

Maake Komeatu DT (Caro): Big and has shown he can play within a gap control system

Antonio Bryant WR: Last chance buddy, last chance

I don't see top FA's giving the Raiders a second look. Top FA's are going to get paid. Why would they come to a team like this who has 15 wins in 4 years? Top FA's will have better options than the Oakland Raiders.

When Moss came here he was traded. He didn't have much choice and while he kind of said all the right things at the PC I didn't really buy in to it. I don't think he wanted to be in Oakland from day one.

Of everyone on this list the 2 who intrigue me most are Jared Allen and Berrian.

I've watched Allen almost single-handedly fuck our offense up on many a series. Most importantly, he brings his shit to the table on every down. Haynesworth does not, which is why I wouldn't even look his way for the money. I'd gladly pay Allen his market price.

Berrian is one of those back-breaking WRs who can make the 50-yd touchdown just when it's most painful for the other team. A guy like Russell needs someone who can burn.

We need at least one OL. I'm just not sure who that should be right now.

A guy like Briggs or Suggs would be a strong pickup.

Berrian is a possibility, but in a weak year for WRs, I'm afraid of the dough he might command.

Erik Coleman, Madieu Williams, Darrion Scott, Clark Haggans, Larry Izzo (STs priority signing), Deke Cooper...relatively cost effective upgrades/depth. If nothingelse, an upgrade to our STs coverage.

Cleo Lemon, Mewelde Moore, Michael Pittman, Kris Wilson, Rock Cartwright (Uncle Ben? Lil Joe?), Andre Davis (His dual KR TDs probably shot his asking price through the roof), Drew Carter, Devard Darling, D.J. Hackett, Jeff Faine, Chris Liwienski...all could come right in and play a role for us on offense.

Kris Wilson would be a really interesting sign. Weaken a division rival, while bringing in a guy who can play a couple different positions pretty well. Another check-down/swing-out option for JaDummy.

Got the day off and feel like typing:

QB: Personally, I think we set for 2008 with The Franchise, McCown and Walter. But if Walter bounces, then add someone like Cleo Lemon or Billy Volek.

RB: Bush and Griffith are the only sure things to be on the 2008 roster, I think. Rhodes, Fargas, who knows? I personally would like to address this early in the draft, but with no 3rd rounder, I don't think it happens. Wouldn't mind bringing back Joe Echemandu. Pipe dream: Michael Turner. I don't see any interesting FA's coming to Oaktown. I think re-signing Fargas is a decent bet.

WR: Berrian and Bryant Johnson, huh? Well, Berrian would help, for sure. Not a top 15 WR, but would be a solid starter. B. Johnson, OTOH, is going to be getting a contract for what people think he may do, which is the same kind of deal Porter got. A bargain bin addition I wouldn't mind: Troy Williamson. Not listed on the FA list, but I believe he is gone from Minny. Had a horrible case of the dropsies early on, had his vision corrected, and worked very, very hard in the offseason. But I think Minny lost a little confidence in him, and T. Jackson couldn't get it to anyone regularly anyhoo. He may be useless, but I think he could be picked up for a minimal salary, and he has special speed. I wouldn't be surprised if DJ Hackett visited OAK as well.

TE: We have the starter. If there's a blocker out there, I wouldn't mind him.

OT: While I think it most likely the Raiders stand pat with Sims, Cornell, McSexy, and Mario Henderson, it actually wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders made a quick move for an OT in FA. I think they considered Leonard Davis last year, but decided "too much for a guard". I would be fine with grabbing a guy like Maurice Williams. I don't think Flozell and Gross are in our future.

OG: I'm not seeing a big investment here, as the starters seem locked in. But a young face might make sense.

C: Would really like to see a body here, as I think asking Newberry to man up again is pushing our luck. None of those names really mean too much to me, I think we may have to scout the draft. Maybe a 4th rounder?

DT: Haynesworth gets franchised. Forget about him. I would like to see DeWayne Robertson (probably getting cut, in a salary dump), or Corey Williams. Ian Scott, Brian Young, there's some meat out there. HBoy's boy Sopogoa--always smart to have some Samoans around. Junior Ioane, anyone? Bring back Grady Jackson!!

DE: Tony Hargrove was promising in St. Louis before he got sidetracked, might be worth a look-see. Travis LaBoy is all effort, not sure we don't already have his equal in Clemons.

LB: Yeah, Karlos Dansby would be a nice SLB, but he's getting franchised. A true franchise LB, the Cards can't let him get away. I don't see any of those guys as an upgrade over Thomas/Sammy Pushup. Terrell Suggs? Sure, as a RE. He should be the #1 target of the offseason, IMO. Garbage pickers special: Teddy Lehmanand Chaun Thompson.

CB: Re-sign Scrabble. That's it. Scrabble, Routt, Fabian, Bowie. You want a name? OK. Randall Gay, let him return kicks, be the dime back.

S: Oh, man. Madieu Williams!!! Is he a UFA? Oh, baby. Am I the first to mention him? Jihad! Jihad!! Take it from a multi-Bengal fantasy owner, this guy saved more TD's this year, than probably any other DB in football. Great tackler, hard worker, L-O-V-E to ahve him at FS next to Huff. I've seen reports that the Bears and Brian Griese will be parting ways.... If he's okay with being a long term #2, his previous starting experience in this offense and in this division would make him a perfect backup IMO...
