We could use the upgrade at LT. But I don't think we need it so badly that we gamble on some raw, might pan out, might not guy with a top 5 pick.
I personally believe that Gholston is the type of specimen who could come to the combine at 6 foot 4 270 pounds, throw up 30 reps and run a 4.6 and push himself atop the DL board.
I agree. I think that's going to have Parcells thinking really hard about dropping that #1 on him.
In a worst case scenario sort of thing: Dorsey, Gholston, Long and McFadden are gone before we pick.

It's a possibility, but I'm hopeful that Atlanta or KC does the buddy thing and goes OL or QB.

A trade down to around the 7-8 spot to pick up our lost 3rd and 5th rounder?
Trading down all but assures that we lose out on a much needed blue chip DL.
Better to redo last year's trick and swap a 2009 3rd rounder and a 2008 second day pick for a 3rd round pick. Should be a DT, OT, or SAM sitting there that we'd do well to pounce on. The Beau Bell contingent here will probably be clamoring for this move come April.
We also have some guys coming off injury who may slip to the 3rd. OT Tony Hills has a broken leg. He may even pull a Michael Bush and be there waiting for us in Rd4.
Didn't Adarius Bowman bust his leg too, or was it a knee injury? If he can't put in a full workout before the draft, someone could be getting a really nice value pick.
I'd like to see us swap the next year's 3 (plus incentives) for a current 3 every year, to be honest.
No chance in my opinion.... The Tuna needs to turn that thing around right away. Developing a QB doesn't fit that agenda. He's most likely going to trade out Jimmy Johnson style.

I take McFadden out because Jordan, Fargas and Rhodes all had 100-yard games this year and Bush is waiting in the wings. He'd be a luxury at this point, not a need.

I take Long out because I see him as a right tackle, and McQuistan and Green even don't seem so bad that someone of Long's fairly pedestrian NFL talent would require his being taken.
