On raiders.com these assist coaches are no longer listed

Tom Walsh
Jackie Slater
Lorenzo Ward
Robert Ford

I'm sad to see Ward go and Slater might have been interesting to keep on... but goodbye walsh and ford... dont let the door hitcha

So that mean Fred Bilenikoff is still our WR coach? :o

Another great player who from where I sit hasn't done jack with the WR's in the years he's roamed the Raiders' sidelines.

Lets see how it plays out. But guys like Fred and Willie if they do get replaced they won't be shoved out like the 4 guys above.

I surprised Ward didn't make the cut. Seemed like a natural that he would be promoted to replace Pagano. He must not have impressed Kiffin.

Word is Freddie B is currently the WR coach with the Yogi kid from USC as the assistant WR coach. Writing should be on the wall for coach "Chain Smoker."

f-ing freddy b and willy brown...jesus how long are we planning on keeping these two fossils on board. what do they do really? it's a legitimate question. time to clean house and al needs to turn the page. what does otto do contribute the box too - I'm tired of all these achient raider greats gravy-trainin for the rest of time.

With Art gone, I wonder how far showing Freddy B the door will go in repairing the relationship with Porter? I'd actually like to hold onto him over Moss if possible.

I'm really surprised that Lorenzo Ward wasn't retained in light of how greatly improved the play of our db's was.

Ward was a big surprise to me. I didn't expect any of the defensive coaches to get the boot. So is that down to Ryan or is Kiffin trying to make a mark on the defense too?

I won't pretend to have "inside info" or anything, but this would seem to be a Rob Ryan decision. I seriously doubt that Kiffin would want to bark up the wrong tree at this juncture.

Perhaps Ward wanted out anyway? Either way, this was an RR decision IMHO.

I would certainly hope that is the case, this one just seems a little surprising as the DB play seemed to improve as much as any group. I guess it was more Pagano than Ward.

Yeah, I don't think this had anything to do with Kiffen... Sometimes assistants don't share the same vision or bump heads with the coordinator... Perhaps much of the credit being laid at Ward's feet could be the result of Pagano's efforts the past few years as Limee stated... I personally think Nnamdi's rise up was a direct result of the offseason film sessions and time he put in with Rod Woodson...

Be interesting to see who Ryan decides on as a replacement, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings any if it was Rod Wood if he has any interest... Maybe we'll get somebody in capable of teaching Schweigert to stop dropping his head and see what he is trying to hit on tackles...

Didn't Woodson say he didn't want to become a coach?

I think he's probably doing some private mentoring at this point. Despite what he said, it wouldn't shock me to see him take a stab at coaching one day. Football is in his soul.

Too bad Rod Woodson couldn't have been a life long Raider.
