***Draft Day Two 2024*** NO SPOILERS!

I read online we get 20+ mil in cap space June 1.

So it does make sense if we get aggressive filling our final spots with solid vets then.
After the draft, FA don’t count to the comp formula. Sign a vet FA immediately—no waiting.

Final thought on Glaze. You have to hope that since he’s just 21…his best football is ahead of him. He has the feet and wingspan that are above average NFL starter material, IMO. Coach him up, shape him up. Good ceiling- average back up floor player. We all know Al’s draft philosophy…draft a talented athletic lump of clay…and have your coaches ‘coach him up’.

Yea - number of players with that "lump of clay" profile in this draft. Lot of them went.

Glad to have him in. We need depth here no matter what.

Chargers, Raiders are prioritizing toughness

Not that other teams aren't, but it's easy to see a connective thread between the first picks of both AFC West squads. After taking the consensus top tackle at No. 5 overall in Joe Alt, Los Angeles went for a physical (and speedy) technician out wide in Ladd McConkey. The Raiders, meanwhile, followed up their surprise No. 13 overall pick of tight end Brock Bowers with Oregon lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson, a former wrestler known for his powerful punch as a run blocker. This feels a lot like two organizations taking on the identity of their respective coaches, Jim Harbaugh and Antonio Pierce.

Hope he’s more than that. Little rich to draft a depth piece in the 3rd. We’ll see..

And if Munford, a 7th round pick, can evolve into a potential starter, so can Delmar Glaze
Munford kinda shows the difference in type of 7th rounders. He came out too early. He was projected to be a 2nd or 3rd the next year if he developed. Playing him in spots like we did brought him along.

Compared to the guys that are there for thier sts prowess or ability to play sooner.

As a developmental guy that only spot started - I feel that a just drafted 3rd round guy has little to no chance of unseating him this year. Thats about as good as you can expect from a 7th rounder not named Brock Purdy

I hope this ends up like Barry Sims and he just owns that position.

I think 6th OL esp for a running team is becoming the new "big nickel" 3rd safety. A guy that is such an important role without being "just a substitute". Munford filled that role last year. With him starting we needed a new one. Our overall ol depth was non-existant.

Gilmore is washed...and I think Bennett will be better than Jackson.

This some wild logic. Penix will be the official crowd chant every time Cousins doesn’t play well. Maybe even if he does. You could’ve drafted lower and had a developmental kid wait that long.

Yep. He went off the board where a lot of draftniks had him. A handful of others I saw had him in lower. I'm fine with others making that pick. I don't think Rosengarten is a good NFL player.

It happens. You had 6 QBs going in the top 16 three months before most. Penix in the top 10 when morons were mocking him in round 3 etc etc.

Gonna get another $17.5 mill when the Raiders trade Davante Adams after June 1st because he has no one to throw the ball to him.
