Domnick Rhodes Interview mp3

Hey thanks. His take on our Qb's is that we have "Nobody" Ouch Andrew Walter.

"Coming to Oakland where they really don't have anybody (QB)"

"I'm hoping we'll get a great quarterback in the draft"

"Hopefully he'll come in here and buy into the system" ? Russell

Wonder if Kiffen or Al "told" DR we're leanin' QB #1 ( JR ) overall? Could concrete the rumors around Garcia not signing?

Liked his spin on the DUI. Hopefully he was telling the truth. After all he could have signed elsewhere. I know very few are high or even lukewarm on this signing, but I see it as a good thing. Runs with authority, decisive, and can block. Recieves out of the backfield as well. (as has been stated before).

It will hopefully be a spark of life on offense if nothing else. AND we didn't OVERPAY.. # 1 on my list.

Sure sounded like he was told that was the direction we were leaning doesn't it? He also seemed to be sold on JR and not Quinn. Sounds like the Raiders are trying to build a vicious running game with over-sized blocking tight ends and three backs that you can rotate and keep fresh. Should be an interesting season.

He will push Lamont for playing time and maybe get him motivated. Lamonts prolly at home eating a bowl of cocoa crispies scratching his ass as we speak. Whole milk...

Agree 100%. Very solid, all around football player. Excellent signing IMO.

Problem is, dude won't be playing until week 5 after pissing himself with a BAC of .09 .. and isn't that one strike away from a full years' suspension?

Getting busted at .09 is pretty weak. I guess being an NFL guy doesn't even cut you a little slack with the cops anymore. Imagine what Stabler and the Tooz would have looked like in this day of sports media saturation.

.08 is the limit, and I've woke up blowing more than a .09. Hope they don't come down on him too hard.

If he wan't already in the program, then he would be one strike away from a 4 game suspension.

In all seriousness, how DO you piss yourself after what, 2-3 beers?

Unless he was coming down after a long night of partying and hadn't had anything to drink for several hours or something and his BAC wasn't quite down to legal limits. I guess that'd make sense.

It could have been a number of factors:
He's an NFL guy, so maybe he was in the car a long time, while the officer called into the supes.
He could have been thinking of all the money he was pissing away in FA and then - oops
The cop tickled him

A lot of these are 'lightweights' in terms of drinking, since, afterall, keeping your body in peak condition is mandatory and drinking often (or heavily) only makes it that much more incompatible.

I think this happened just after the SB?

I think the league should make a bigger deal out of, oh I don't know, women beaters? Call me crazy.

Nah, guy's that get DUI's get whats coming. You're almost asking for something bad to happen.

I think the league should make a bigger deal out of criminal behavior in general. Drunk driving is really stupid, you are risking peoples lives. It's a mistake alot of people make, but it's not trivial. I learned my lesson with it early in life. Thank God I never hurt anyone, or got a DWI. Rhodes has enough money to take a cab or rent a limo. If i can avoid getting behind the wheel so can he. There is no excuse for that today.

Good counter. I stand corrected.

Reps for that brother.

Not a day goes by where I don't regret my similiar mistake as an 18 year old dumbass.

I think about my niece, when I think about drunk driving again...Its never the idiot who dies, its the young mom, the small child or the high school volunteer coach.

I got my lucky break in life getting off on a technicality, and the thought of doing it again doesnt cross my mind anymore.

Stupid, stupid thing to do.

Yeah, there was a drunk driver around here that hit a limo and decapitated a 9 year old girl. Her mother was holding the kids head in her lap when the cops got the the scene ... it's just messed up. I also feel bad for the dumb kid that hit her (and yes, he lived). Not only does he have to live with himself, but his life is over (and rightfully so).

Gotta stay out of a car when you are drunk.

Drunk Driving Charges dropped

INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Indianapolis Colts running back Dominic Rhodes pleaded guilty Wednesday to reckless driving after an arrest last month.

An Indiana State Police trooper arrested Rhodes after clocking him at 81 mph in a 65 mph zone. Drunken driving charges were also filed, but those charges were dropped.
According to police on the night of the arrest, Rhodes' blood-alcohol level was just above the legal driving limit.

Rhodes will pay a $1,000 fine plus court costs.

Earlier this month, Rhodes signed with the Oakland Raiders.

Now drop our turd points PFT!

Also, no felony = no league punishment = no missed games. :)

Good news, but it doesn't change the fact that what he did was stupid.

No doubt. If you listen to his interview, he says he was so stupid, several times. He has stayed out of trouble his whole life, so I'll give him a mulligan.
