Dick Vermeil will be missed

I don't know about you, but I will miss Dick Vermeil. I loved him as a head coach and as a human being. He is a winner. I personally think he should still be coaching. He has a lot to offer as a coach. He did a good job at KC. I am dissapointed that he retired. I hope he comes back coaching at the NFL. I think he will.

He was underrated and underappreciated. It's nice to see a nice guy can win games in Dick.

You know, I never really liked Vermeil as a coach. I think he did a lot for the guys on the field, and I think when he had great players and coordinators, he got the job done.

He wasn't the kind of guy to get that extra something from his players. That would take a superior motivator or X's and O's guy. Vermeil appeared to be neither. Instead, he was a great leader of men. But it took me a long time to appreciate that aspect of him.

Now he's probably gone from the game.

That's a great post Tice, and one I never thought I'd see from a non-Eagles/Rams/Chiefs fan....my brother is a Rams fan, and he always wanted Vermeil back there in St. Louis instead of Martz (he really hated Martz!! I always liked Vermeil, and he will be missed...but it was time for the Chiefs to move on IMO....but it wouldn't have surprised me to see some team try to get him back.

I Will agree that Vermeil is Underated he led the Eagles to the Super Bowl then led the Rams to a Super Bowl Victory. he had the offense with the Chiefs the problem is he didn't have the Defense what a shame we couldn't get there with Vermeil wha a class act Vermil is

Vermeil is a class act all the way, no doubt...but the chiefs defense was ignored entirely too long!!
